Didn't like it. Hate to say it's the language used, but when one piece of action takes place over 3 pages, I don't find it very exciting.

Argh matey! I finally got to this classic!

I’ve wanted to read Treasure Island for most of my life. This book is not only a classic but it brings forth the lore of pirates, lost treasure and a love for adventure.

While moving, I wanted an audiobook that would entertain me while packing up the mess.

Looking through the Audible Originals, I came across Treasure Island and thought,
“Why not! Let’s give this one a try and hope for this best.”

The Audible Original was well done for this book and I loved all the different narrators that they used for the characters.
Long John Silver, Jim Hawkins, Ben Gunn to the parrot Captain Flint were all fun to listen to while the swashbuckling was going down.

If you struggle with reading this classic, maybe try the audiobook for this one.
I vastly enjoyed this one while dealing with the chore of moving!

Well, I listened to the second version of the Librivox recording, and it was really well done. It's a classic. Not much else I can say.

pirate book!!!!

Stevenson's classic novel for kids and young adults is a fabulous adventure story. The novel details the quest for treasure that young Jim Hawkins gets caught up in after a pirate dies at his parents' inn and Jim appropriates said pirate's treasure map. Epic pirate battles on a hidden island ensue, as do escapades involving feverish diseases, encounters with insane exiles, and crazy epic gunfights. This book is just as exciting to read today as it probably was decades ago; I loved reading about Jim's swashbuckling adventures and enjoyed the chance to read a romanticized book about bloodthirsty pirates. I think teens, kids, and even adults who love adventure stories will love this novel, which, in spite of its datedness (think intense British patriotism and a decided lack of female characters--which is part of why I love the Disney movie Treasure Planet, in which the captain of the ship is a woman), is still incredibly fun to read today, especially as a fun summery escapist book.
