This is an entertaining, easy read. It's traditional Baldacci. I did notice a couple of editorial errors, and one plot inconsistency that left me thinking, wait, what?, that doesn't make sense, it really wasn't critical to the story line.

If you like Baldacci, you'll like this book, and if you don't, you won't.

Solid book by Baldacci. I enjoy the John Puller character.

Rather stupid book, Baldacci has written better ones. But still so entertaining that I felt it difficult to put it down to get some sleep.

3.5 stars. This was my first Baldacci book. I knew right away I'd be reading more. Quick pace, good lead character and a story that isn't completely predictable. This is what I want in a book and Balducci delivers.

My first Baldacci read. Impressed with the writing but find it pretty average. Cliched! The entire book was a flashback to all the popular American TV Series based on special forces (FIB, CID etc..).
Not worth the hype and over-rated. The only reason I rated it 3 stars is for Mr David's writing style. He knows how to keep the reader engaged with his book.

Didn't find the story gripping at all. 6 murders in beginning & thats about it. Didn't find the investigation interesting nor was there a page turner once, until of course you manage to reach the last chapter.

This was my first read of a David Baldacci!!

3 1/2 stars. Great crime drama with some wonderful characters that I would easily read about again. They were introduced like they had a past so I do want to check if the characters were previously introduced, but good either way.

I've been seeing the name David Baldacci on shelves on best seller lists forever. I finally decided to try one. It was a dud for me. The writing is slow and boring. It takes forever to get to the end of a chapter and then... nothing. I dnf'd this quickly. In my experience writing like this doesn't get any better further into the book so I decided to end my misery right there. I don't think I'll be trying another one of his books.
