I like Sin’s style of minimalist poems that pack a punch and while this book certainly contained ones I felt strongly about, it also became repetitive. This is better read in multiple short sessions but because I read it in one sitting, a lot of the poems started sounding the same. Sin touched on themes many readers could relate to. There’s love, heartbreak, abuse, feminism, and loneliness to name a few but I’d love to see him explore other themes in the future.

like he made some good points but I couldn’t get past the fact that this author was a straight man writing from a women’s perspective about how shitty straight men are. it felt insincere but I’d like to believe the intentions were good.
I found some verses touching, but in general it feels like the words a friend will say to you to make you feel better, even if they're not true.

some of this was good, but the “nice guy” theme was apparent throughout this and honestly wasn’t my thing plus it was repetitive
Graphic: Racism, Sexism, Sexual violence, Police brutality
while some poems made me cringe, like some of the women empowerment ones (i generally cringe at men writing about women empowerment because it lacks depth and feels like they’re just writing it to get on our “good side”) i found a lot of the others ones to be relatable in a heartbreaking/empowering way, so i guess that’s where my 3 stars comes from... the half good, half bad i see in this collection

1.5-2/5 stars.
His "guys better be nicer to women or their girlfriends will leave them for Nice Guys(tm) like me" poem knocked a star and a half.
Mostly forgettable female empowerment poetry written by a man. There are a few heartfelt gems about relationships in general, death/suicide, and police brutality.
But overall pretty forgettable, and there's several WoC written poetry books promoting WoC or female empowerment that I'd recommend over this.
