This book had so much to love. Light romance, a mystery, magic, and tea. The pacing was good, and I don't feel like I ended up with unanswered questions. It was cozy, yet there was an element of danger that all mysteries should have, but they played well together. I got this as a library book, but I'm honestly considering getting my own copy because I loved the cover, and I'd probably read it again.

An absolutely delightful read that was hard to put down. Three generations of witches have been tending to the emotional well-being of the residents of Yarrow, Kentucky for years but something happened 20 years ago that changed the town dynamics. Except no one can remember what it was. With the death of a prominent citizen the lies begin to unravel and the witches that care for the town begin to realize the deception that they were inadvertently a part of. Can this mother, daughter, and grandmother find the truth when even their own memories are working against them? Loved this read from new-to-me author Liz Parker. Excited to try more from her!

In the Shadow Garden is Liz Park’s debut. This novel takes place in Kentucky and explores strained relationships, memories, and troubled pasts. Overall, this was perfect autumn read with a side of witchy vibes. I loved that there were multiple perspectives and that there was a family tree in the front in the physical book which was super helpful. I found it fascinating how the author mixed in tea leave readings, bourbon distilleries, and a touch of magic together. The author addresses heavy subjects throughout the story such as death of a parent, abuse (child & domestic), gaslighting to name a few. Highly recommend listening to the audio as it’s told by multiple narrators and the narration is fantastic!

Thank you Forever and Hachette Audio for the free copies.

This book is magical.

I love books about witches and magic, especially when they do it this well. This book is atmospheric, while still holding a strong story and characters. Between Lavender & Lemon Balm, the Shadow Garden, the auras, the tea leaf readings, and even the Bonner bourbon and the gloom, I felt like I was in this world of magic every time I opened the book. I wasn't shocked by any of the mystery, but I didn't feel the need to be. It was revealed in a way that kept me turning the pages, needing to know more.

I was surprised to be invested in so many different characters and to not dislike any of their POV sections. There's a family tree that was helpful at the beginning of the book to remember the characters.

This is a new favorite of mine. It got me out of a reading slump and I loved it so much.
I'm sad Liz Parker doesn't have any other books out yet for me to read!! I need more of this magic.

Thank you to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for my honest review- all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was good- different than what I expected, I think the blurb didn’t do the book justice and vice versa.
