I was so excited when I received an arc copy of this book! I’ve never been chosen before and to have this be my first one….well I was over the moon excited!
I loved this book from the first chapter. The banter between Declan and Hadley was absolutely hilarious and so much fun. I love a witty, female main character and a quippy male character. It just made it so enjoyable to read, because the chemistry between these two was off the charts, right off the bat. I loved getting to know the other characters and the small town, and as someone that grew up in a small town, it just felt like coming home. And I cannot wait to get to know more about all of them. I will say, I absolutely loved Muddy. She was hilarious, and every scene with her had me laughing.
But again, Hadley and Declan were just a fantastic couple. I loved them right from the beginning. He was so wonderful to her. I love a MMC that just absolutely loves and would do anything for his FMC.
I'm also a huge fan of the surprise pregnancy trope and I thought that was wonderfully played out.
I cannot wait to read more in this series and find out about the other characters. I loved the surprise cameo later in the book. It just felt like... the perfect little tie in and nod to her previous series, which I absolutely loved as well.
Five out of five stars, I cannot wait to read this over again, as well as continue with this series, which I think is going to be just as good, if not better than the Tarnished Angels series.
We’re in our Emma Slate cowboy era, and I’m here for it!! If there’s one thing you can count on with an Emma Slate MMC, it’s that they’re going to fall fast and hard, and I eat it up every. time. I loved Declan. From the moment they met, he was all in with Hadley, determined to get to know the girl who knocked him off his feet. I loved his flirtiness, his confidence, and his patience with Hadley, the way he was able to read her so well. I loved watching Hadley find herself and get back to her roots, allowing herself to find happiness again, even when it was terrifying. I loved the banter between Declan & Hadley and adored the friendship they created. I loved Hadley’s sister and friends, and cannot wait for more!!

Absolutely in love with Muddy! She really was all seeing when it comes to the main characters Hadley and Declan. I love that she was able to find someone who accepted her infertility and still loved her. And the pure joy they had when she found out that she was pregnant. You can feel the lack of self esteem that Hadley had and it can resonate with a lot of women.

Starting right out the gate with the banter and chemistry between Declan and Hadley really sinks you in.
Hadley has shown up at her family ranch in the middle of the night without much notice. So, she thinks she is about to walk into an empty cabin. Instead she lands on a half naked wrangler.
Declan is the biggest flirt. Absolute sunshine. His attention to detail when it comes to Hadley is adorable, heart whelming.
He helps Hadley find her way. He takes her riding to clear her head, makes sure she eats good, and makes sure he eats good.
Hadley’s group of girls are funny. Wyn is my favorite by far. I really hope she and Muddy meet.
Muddy is an excellent name. She reminds me of my own grandmother. She is wise in a hilarious and slightly inappropriate way.
I do wish there was an insight into Declan’s mind. But I enjoyed this being a story that comes purely from Hadley. The pacing keeps you hooked.
Ok, now you can find me biting my nails and pacing for Salem’s story. I NEED ANSWERS!
Thanks Emma for the ARC. You have a new fan!

***ARC Review***
Declan...give me 43 of him right now... I expect this level of love and adoration for the rest of the Saddles and Spurs universe, you tell me it's giving Seven Brides for Seven Brothers vibes and I will hold you to it! Sweet puppy cinnamon roll who falls hard and fast, loves and supports Hadley in every way she needs and them some... Hadley may be running home to hide but she finds exactly what she needs. Emma wrote this as a fun rom-com that still covers some sensitive topics and did it with grace. Such a fun read and I can't wait to see where the rest of this series goes!
**Minor Spoiler - listed in tropes**
If you are a big fan of the surprise pregnancy and want that carried throughout the story, we don't get that info until further into the book, so don't be disappointed when it doesn't happen super early on!

My queen of MC romances, Emma Slate, has branched over into cowboys. What did we do to be so blessed?!?
Hadley returns home to the ranch after a broken engagement in NYC only to literally fall into the arms of Declan, an older ranch hand her dad recently hired. Declan is a huge golden retriever who will do anything to make Hadley happy, and after the chaos in New York, she deserves every second of it. This book is sweet, loving, sexy and full of family and cute animals, like literally what more could you want?

I never thought I would think the nickname, Bear Snack, could be romantically enduring, but when Deckan calls Hadley this, I was sold.
This book had a quick start when Hadley almost gets taken out by a grizzly before Declan saves the day! Hadley is a little cautious around her feelings for Declan right away as she had returned home after a failed engagement and some devasting news. However, Declan accepts her for where she is in life and didn't push for more until she was ready despite his big feelings for her. Throw in a meddling grandma, supportive friends, hot springs, and a baby goat, and Hadley had no hope of not falling for Declan.
As this is the first book of the series, I can't wait to see where the next book takes me!

I loved every moment of this book! The characters’ love story was so cute and funny. The nickname Declan gave Hadley was perfect—I love how unique it was. It reminded me of how my husband gives me random names that no one else would ever think to use, which made it feel personal and extra sweet.
I also loved the charming little town and all the people in it. The whole setting just felt cozy and alive.
For someone who’s obsessed with Chestnut Springs, this definitely scratched that same itch. I can’t wait for Book 2 in the series to come out!
