I have read almost every book in this series. It is one of my top favorites currently in release. Which, I am happy to report that author, Laura Griffin is one of my favorite authors. Every time that I pick up the next book in this series, I can read them fast enough. Usually, one day book reads for me.

Sara was awesome. I loved that she got right into the investigation. She did not wait. She was traversing down cliff walls to get the job done. She sure impressed Detective Nolan Hess. Speaking of the "handsome" Detective. He may have been the man in charge but he did back off and allow Sara to do her job. They worked well together.

If you are looking for your next thriller, you need not look any further. Treat yourself and pick up a copy of Stone Cold Heart! See why I love this series and author.

4 stars for a solid suspense story and romance. Had the romance developed more and gotten more page-time it could have been a 5.

Read in less than 24 hours, in two sittings. Loved it. The writing style is fast paced and easy to follow without being predictable or boring. Also loved the tiny bit of romance/spice she squeezed in here, it didn't feel obligatory or forced and was actually believable. The suspense was also perfect, and kept me guessing until the end. I rarely give 5 stars but this is one of those books I wish I could read for the first time again.

3.5 stars. The steady build of discovering the dark secrets of the unsub, mixed with the formation of a new exciting relationship made this a suspenseful read. Another win for the Tracers series.

Suspense.
Definitely not as gripping as the previous Tracers books I’ve read. Still fairly decent though.

Romance.
Sara Lockhart is a likable character, but in my opinion, Nolan Hess is one of Griffin’s best male characters ever. None of that crazy alpha male crap.

Narration.
Not the best but pretty good. She’s very expressive, but all the male voices sound the same.

Stone Cold Heart was mystery and suspense at its best. Griffin’s mind for capturing the personalities and science of the positions surrounding those who solve cases is unprecedented in this genre and truly transports the reader into every aspect of the crime she explores. And within the unfurling mystery there’s a perfect balance of romance to add to the thrill of this fast-paced, unputdownable story, and it might be my most favorite of the series yet.

I adored getting to experience the anthropological aspect of law enforcement with Sara’s career and how that added a unique element to this specific case. She was so well developed as a character to have the skill and the matching self-sufficiency to bring that raw relatability forward. She paired well with Nolan’s intensities and together they were the perfect amount of sizzle and tension. Every side character, every new twist or turn, and the constant movement of the plot were all wonderfully executed to make Stone Cold Heart stand out, and I cannot wait for more in this amazing series.

**Received an early copy; this had no bearing on my opinions**

I liked, but it will not stay in my mind for long. At least it didn't have ridiculous/yucky inner monologues, a big big plus. I felt like I could respect the main characters and their sense of life priorities.
