I was really excited to read this book, but I had a difficult time reading once the plot kicked in. The fact that that Morgan knew Rory was going through a difficult time (she actively SAW how her parents were treating her!), and she STILL decided to be cruel to her made me dislike her a lot. Also, the fact that Morgan was experiencing such self loathing that she couldn’t for a second conceive that Rory actually liked her makes me feel like she didn’t need to be in a relationship, she needs to see a mundane therapist. I feel like the book ended where it did because the relationship is super unsustainable

The premise of this book really drew me in but unfortunately it just wasn't executed in a way that took advantage of what was available.

It felt very YA, which isn't a bad thing, until the end where a mild-moderate spicy scene occured which felt very shoehorned in, potentially from editors notes seeking to appeal to an older audience. I'm not for or against a bit of spice, I don't read for that, but I appreciate them when well placed - this, however, was not.

I also felt like a simple couple of questions or even a non-confession confession of including the wrong ingredient would have fixed a lot of this plot, "can I just see the potion and check it? I made a tweak to it and want to check it's worked properly". If I know anything about wlw relationships its that they maybe communicate too much, so this missed the mark a bit...

I wanted to love this book since Sapphic witchy romance is a favorite niche for me, but the miscommunication at the center of the plot dragged for ages and felt so unneeded

I feel so seen by this book. I feel like the accidental love potion feels very similar to how a lot of people like myself feel when someone takes a romantic interest in us. We fear we've tricked them somehow and they will eventually find out and discard us. The accidental love potion is a great metaphor for that.

I like how it took into account that using a love potion on purpose and taking advantage of that would be sexual assault. It puts that episode from Charmed from the 90s into a whole new perspective I had never even thought about. I think the author handled that element incredibly well.

Its a very predictable read, don't expect too many surprises, but it was utterly delightful regardless.
