A really cute, LGBTQ, witchy romance! Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes, and even though the disaster beat was mainly based on miscommunication which I do not like, it was definitely better than I've seen before.

If you're looking for a fake dating, slow burn, open door romance, read this one, you won't be disappointed.

DID NOT FINISH: 54%

Super cute sapphic witchy romance that I would’ve loved….except the main conflict is a miscommunication trope that could’ve been avoided with one conversation (
did you drink the relaxation potion yet?
). I can’t sit through the discomfort and the
’I need to make her fall out of love with me and must avoid her’
shit.

Anyway, sadly couldn’t finish even though I liked the vibes, the store, the questions of future goals and what you want out of (witchy) life.

I really wanted to like this book more, the premise and the setting are all a lot of fun. And I think overall the characters are great. The fake dating storyline was fun. But nearly all of the story hinges upon weird miscommunications that I felt were totally unnecessary. It made Morgan look worse while Rory is essentially getting lied to constantly.

My big issue is that the book is written from a 3rd person perspective, but felt like a first person from Morgan's perspective. That wasn't a bad thing most of the time, I just think some of the frustrating things could have been solved by better editing. I nearly put down the book in the first hour because of how many times the word tequila is mentioned. The entire story hinges on Morgan getting drunk off one margarita, yet she drinks multiple glasses of wine in other parts of the story and has no such issues. Also the amount of times she said 'Rory fucking Sadler' drove me nuts. I understand she's famous, but good lord stop saying that.
