My journey with this book went like this: Enjoyed the bubbly first scene, started becoming bogged down by all the world-building, realized the obvious twist, switched to the ebook when it became clear I needed an extra hand to help me through, became impatient to move on to something else, everything I predicted came true, and I finally, finally finished that last page. Essentially, the majority of reviews are a harsher version of my thoughts. Needless to say, it wasn't my favorite reading experience, and I'm pretty certain I'll soon forget what happened. On to (hopefully much) better books!

It's not a particularly believable folly that Morgan accidentally administered Rory a love potion, but I do like the fake dating trope.

3.5!!!

Fun read! I love magic and fantasy but when you throw in gay witches like say less you got me.

Two things ill say before the spoilers is. I love how she breaks stereotypes and its a very creative world. Plus the fact Morgan is the living embodiment of Bisexual Disaster. My review does have SPOILERS from here on out.

I think when the idea of the love potion was introduced I felt my interest fade. This is because their entire relationship started over and it was back to square one except Morgan’s a (cute) dumbass. This may also be due to the fact that I knew immediately that Rory didnt take the love potion (after all I am a criminology major; detective work is kinda my thing). Which not for a second I believed she took it but putting myself in Morgans shoes was fun. Morgan does a great job to try and not manipulate Rory and I physically cringed at some parts so you know it was good.

This book pulled me in so many directions. Personally i would read it again but it was a slow read for me just because of this. Great first book for her though!
