This was a fun fake dating, opposites attract Sapphic paranormal romance debut that sees two witches falling in love over the course of a Spellcasting festival as fake feelings turn real with a bit of help from a rogue love potion. Unique, witty and full of heart. This was good on audio and perfect for fans of Lana Harper or Rachel Harrison. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy and @prhaudio for a complimentary ALC in exchange for my honest review. Top marks for a gorgeous purple witchy cover too!!

This book was so SLOW! Definitely not my cup of tea & it did not help that I fell asleep during the end of it. Truly wish I could rate it higher but it just wasn’t for me.

DID NOT FINISH: 56%

Combination of miscommunication trope and stupid main character trope with a touch of emotional abuse.

The main character Morgan starts fake dating Rory, a magical prodigy and small time celebrity. However, real feeling start to develop but when a mistake leads Morgan to believe she has given Rory a love potion, thus violating her consent, she decides to be mean to her in order to break them up. The miscommunication trope along with the stupid main character trope combination was too much for me, I am not interested to see any redemption or grand gesture whatsover after the amount of times Morgan decided to not tell Rory about the supposed love potion, violating her consent once again every few chapters.

I've recently learned that someone (fake) dating a celebrity that they already had a crush on is a trope that I don't like. Nothing against the book, it's just not my vibe.

The miscommunication trope was making me so mad. I just kept screaming JUST TELL HERRRRR if that didn’t go on for so long it would’ve gotten more stars

Borderline perfect set up only to be drowned out by miscommunication, lying, and frustration. Everything was great until they got to the festival.
