So I can totally get why kids love this book. The pictures are cute, there are some funny moments, but overall I did not like it. In fairness I was not the intended audience. I thought Greg was a twerp but hey what middle school boy isn't? I will always recommend this to a kid looking for a funny book, but I was unable to finish it.

La verdad me gustó mucho este libro, me hizo reír mucho y pues si esta totalmente enfocado a los niños y la verdad yo si lo recomiendo para ellos, las peripecias de Greg son algo muy de niños y sobre todo con desenlace cómico. La pelea que tiene con su mejor amigo si bien entendí el enojo del niño también entendí por que Greg no lo veía como algo malo o de que preocuparse y al final todo se arregla gracias a la amistad. Por otro lado Greg pues es el hijo de en medio y pienso que retrata muy bien eso y el comportamiento de sus padres, lo de la casa de los sueños de barbie me hizo reír bastante y sobre todo el regalo de navidad que le da su tío. Definitivamente lo recomiendo bastante y más para los más chicos del hogar.

It was nostalgic to read and a nice quick read. But reading it felt very immature but also fun.
i know this is a Classic Of The Genre at this point and i have friends who like it, but woof. idk about this one guys. if this is what young boys are reading? uhh. our hero is a bully (and a burgeoning misogynist) who seems to lack any kind of empathy. there are funny parts and i'm sure it's more enjoyable for kids but i can't get behind this tbh.

Greg Heffley is the Patrick Bateman of 10-year-olds.
I remember that when I read it as a teenager I thought it was super interesting. I still like the story, it's super fun and it's a "silly" thing to help you switch off your mind for a while. The rotten cheese joke was a hit at my school at the time.
