Gamora is my new girl crush and maybe the background of my laptop is a screenshot of her and Angela WHATEVER.

A good continuation to the series, but the plot holes are waiting to be filled ... eventually? There are, however, some good fight scene splash pages. And Francavilla's artwork is stellar - no pun intended.

The writing is really good and funny, bit it's hard to follow what's going on. Like these were pulled out of some larger work. There just seems to be big gaps that are hard to follow. I love the artwork in the middle section. There's interesting colors and contrasts you don't see a whole lot in comics. But the panelling is another thing that is confusing at times. I wish I could have all the good and fix some of these annoying things.

I felt lost during this volume of GOTG. The story took place after Age of Ultron and I haven't read that comic/seen the movie yet; therefore, I didn't get the basis of the story line. Besides that, I enjoyed Guardians. I love Groot and Rocket Racoon. They are the reason I picked up this series. I wasn't a huge fan of the character Angela, I really think she needs some more clothes but that's what you get in the comic book world. The art style in this volume was done by a different artist for each issue. For me this kind of added to my confusion. Many of the styles were quite different and I would prefer continuity throughout, but all of the art was amazing and I applaud their work. This isn't the best but still fun none of the less.

Hmmm... Well, I still liked this volume, but it made me question whether or not I want to continue reading Guardians of the Galaxy. It's not a good sign that the part which I found the most interesting about this volume was Thanos and the Infinity tie-ins. Considering that I haven't really read Age of Ultron, I found the plot a bit confusing—I had to stop reading and go look things up. However, nothing was more frustrating than the random fighting. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for awesome fight scenes, but when they come out of nowhere—it's just poor writing. This volume did have some interesting parts though, and hilarious dialogue, as well as beautiful art.

I noticed on the opening page that the "Angela" character was co-created by Todd Mcfarlane and Neil Gaiman, so I figured she was from Spawn. (Confirmed by Wikipedia!) So this probably would be a cooler crossover or whatever if I already knew anything about the character. IDK, it worked fine not knowing, since the Guardians didn't know either, and it was kind of fun to have some superheroes being like, "whoops maybe we shouldn't have just blindly attacked this new person."

Overall, this was a fun read for me but someone more well-versed in comics than I would likely appreciate it more.

I enjoyed this graphic novel. I'm liking where the story is going.

I love the Guardians more and more as I go along with this series. The story gets better as I continue to read.

I liked the new characters within this book and can't wait to see what happens with every character in the later books.

Overall I really liked the book and I can't wait to read more within this series.

Fine. Had a nice bit of banter at the start, but then tailed off towards the end for me. I might have read this one before I had goodreads, I'm not sure. Some of the art felt kinda familiar.

Okay, it weirds me out a little that the first thing I actually read with Neil Gaiman’s seminal and much litigated character ANGELA is a book Gaiman did not write, in the volume 2 of a series I didn’t read volume 1 of*. AND YET. As an introduction of a character into a universe, it’s pretty epic. She punches real good. And she finds things worth punching.

I did find the AMOUNT of bosom a little eye rolling, but having it backed by some serious muscle helped offset it.

And I think I might love Rocky Raccoon. I did not see this coming.

*So I buy more comic books than most people. But I read more than I buy because I ain’t buying them if I’m not going to re-read them, and EVEN SO my file at my local comic store seems pretty full. My local comic book store, Danger Room, is owned by two guys who seem honestly happy to see me every time I come in. So things like this I check out from the library. Tacoma Public Library has three copies of volume 2 and none of volume 1. Weird decision making. I’d complain, but they DO NOT ACCEPT USER EMAIL which taints my otherwise great affection for the local library.
