This book was tricky to find, but I eventually got my hands on a copy. It was... *shrugs* okay.

When I read Vol 1, I got the sense that this series was about your basic sci fi adventure in space. Nothing new or revolutionary's going to happen. With Angela (my precious lesbian angel) and Tony Stark (someone I'm admiring more and more these days) in the mix, I had higher hopes, but somehow there was even less spark. Besides well choreographed fights and good character dialog, nothing spectacular happened. Bendis' writing seemed scatterbrained, unfocused. While the characters were solid in and of themselves and their witty banter on point, crossover events yanked characters and plot around like mad with little pay off. I could tell that Bendis was trying to sow the seeds of subplots, but it came off as a mess. There was also a couple of very disturbing lines about people deserving to be slaves. And Angela's sex object outfit. So. Yeah.

There were two bright spots however, and for each there's a star. First, Angela & Gamora's friendship, which is the stuff of wonder, and Tony's joy at the space tech, which is ADORABLE. They made the volume for me. I'd honestly only recommend reading this series if you want to appreciate them.

A bit better than Vol.1. Liked the friendship/camaraderie between Gamora and Angela in the final, post-Infinity chapter. Some things still irk me. Rocket Racoon is a bit irritating. There's little character development, just lots of mindless action. Which is fine, but it's better when balanced by proper storytelling.

Mention of things that happened in other series, for example - I did just get the Infinity comics on sale from ComiXology (huge savings, so less of an issue if I don't love it), and that will hopefully fill in the gaps. Next up, Trial of Jean Gray. Haven't read more than the first collection of the All-New X-Men, but I'm sure I'll be able to follow.

Doesn't quite hit the heights of the 1st volume but is still a wild and fun space ride.

Another hard GN to rate.
I loved the first half of this where, to be fair, not a lot of actual plot happened. But the artwork was excellent, the banter was sharp, and Tony Stark was actually a likeable character (great seeing him out of his depth with pretty much everything, and being razzed by a talking raccoon).

The issue 10 happened and the artwork went to shit; sketchy, limited colour palate, and just horrible. I can't get any enjoyment out of that style of artwork. And the story plunged us into the middle of Infinity and then straight out the other side without really knowing what was going on.

The final issue in the collection improved slightly in art style, but I didn't like the story. Way too much focus on Gamora and Angela; both characters with absolutely no sense of humour.

The four stars are for the first half of the GN. If it had all been like the last 3 issues I'd have been 2 starring this.

Hey guys, that little cliffhanger thing you did at the end of the last one? Yeah, that's a plot thread that isn't ever going to be picked up, is it?

Look, I know you have the fall out from one important universe spanning event to deal with. And it looks like you're already diving head first into the next important universe spanning event. But can you just pick one plot and see it through to the end before you jump to the next one? Please?

Much better than I anticipated...the mysterious Angela appears in space and the Guardians want to know what she wants with Earth. Thanos...deals with the devil? Leads into Trial of Jean Grey. Great art through out.

Okay, this installment was not nearly as good as the first one. I found myself not really liking the storyline or the characters in this. This was definitely a nosedive as far as I'm concerned. I don't know how the later volumes are going to be, but this honestly makes me not too excited to continue on. Maybe I will if I can find the next volume on sale, haha, these things are like 25 bucks apiece.

The plot holes because of other events make this TPB fall apart. Iron Man disappears and at the end they help the Avengers. In between Angela shows up. This 1990s Bad Girl trend relic doesn't fit with the look and style of the book. The artist are good, with Picchelli's moody section of red and black standing out well. Also, Bendis dialogue seems to have gotten weaker on this series. Not feeling it at all.
