A (slightly) confusing political fantasy yet ambitious, fresh, and gritty. Certain aspects and one character I wish were explored more but I’ll definitely read this author again. Stellar debut. And that cover!

This book had so much potential, but I feel like it’s still in the draft stage. I started the book a little confused, and that feeling persisted until the very last word. I loved the story, but I felt like the author was trying to do way too much in one book- it either should’ve been much longer or made into a series. There was so much that wasn’t explained and just glossed over. The ending felt very rushed and a little too neat.

All that being said, I’d be willing to read more by the author to see if there is improvement
