Didn’t finish after just a few chapters. Normally I love anything by one of DongWan Song’s clients, but as a therapist, I find pop culture depictions of plurality created by singlets to be incredibly tasteless, so as soon as I realized that’s what the concept was, I gave up in disgust.

What a unique book! It's like a fantasy gothic who-dun-it with a hint of sci-fi. Its also a wonderful look at what trauma can do to someone and how to heal from it. Loved most of the characters (the lady was insufferable) and loved the twists and ending.

Overall enjoyable! A little bewildering to start as there’s not much context to the characters but through persistence a complex world manifests which is riveting. The middle third is quite slow and loses a bit of sight of the overall ‘whodunnit’ aspect but it all comes crashing together magnificently at the end. The final 5 pages are a tad flat for my liking but it all works out in the end

Gothic murder mystery x dissociative identity disorder.

This was SUCH an intriguing story that kept me guessing. Very dark, very fun to mentally chew on.
