book 2/5 in series. entertaining but nothing mild-blowing, I enjoyed while reading and immediately forgot everything.
I do not think Nico and August could have truly connected without the forced proximity that occurred. Even though Nico had a career set back and health issues I think finding love in August was worth it all. Emotions are high and I found this very realistic given the seriousness of what happened to Nico and how stressful a hockey career can be. I absolutely adored August and how he cared for Nico. Perfect blend of angst with humor and snarky banter despite the seriousness of what Nico was going through. You can read their romance as a standalone, but I believe this series is better read in order as the characters carry over and you become attached and familiar with them all.

These two worked for me and it was a sweet story, though I found it quite emotional to read in places.
4 stars
This story was lovely and I liked very much how August and Nico got together. They are so different and yet they're perfect for each other.
I adored Nico since the first book, he's spontanous, funny, charming; it was hard seeing him dealing with a traumatic experience that left him weak and insecure about his future.
August, despite almost not knowing Nico at all, was able to support him in the right way: he pushed him when he needed it and he made him slow down when he was too restless.
I liked their fake relationship, especially when Nico found out the truth and started teasing him again.
I found all the concerns and fears about August's job very well written. And I really really loved Charlie's speech to Nico that made him feel understood.
What prevented me from giving a higher rate
The romance (when they admit to themselves they have feelings for each other) starts very late in the story and they got together for real almost at the end of the book.
This story is also a little too long and some parts were kind of repetitive.
Skylar and julius were a blast, I hope we'll see them again in the following books. I loved the epilogue and Nico and Auggie's well deserved HEA
Next book will be about Jonah and Felix: I cannot wait for him to have his own happy ending.
I received a free copy from Neon Rainbow and this is my honest review.

This series makes me absolutely FERAL.
I don't what it is about this author's writing style but I am obsessed.

AHHHHH. I hesitated to pick this book up because I loved the first book in the series (The Husband Game) so much that I was sure this one could never live up to it.
Guys. It. Is. BETTER. HOW?!
Nico. Oh my gosh, Nico when he wakes up - I just - I can't. Wahhhh. I just want to hug him and squeeze him and I can totally see why August had a hard time resisting him - who WOULDN'T fall for this sweetheart once his walls are down?
I'm trying to think about what I can say about this book without spoiling it, and I've just got nothing. SO GOOD. It's so hot, there's some really great enemies hate banging, an amnesia twist on the fake dating trope (sort of While You Were Sleeping except falling for the coma/injured/sleeping dude instead of his brother haha). Also, what hockey romance reader has not YEARNED for a hockey player/referee romance?! There are plenty of super hot scenes, ranging from anger banging to really sweet lovemaking. There were so many moments where my heart HURT and I just wanted to hug basically everyone. Nico's team is SO AMAZING and I can't wait to read more of their stories.
This is the second book in the Relationship Goals series and can be read as a standalone. That being said, book one (The Husband Game) is SO GOOD so you're going to want to read it as well anyway. May as well read them in order! :)
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are unbiased and my own.

I loved Nico and August. This book is my favorite of the series so far. It's because of how different August and Nico were. August was the practical, "follow all the rules" kind of guy, and Nico was not. There wasn't an "adventure" that Nico wouldn't do. It's why it was so fun, watching the two of them, under false pretenses because of the lies August had told, start to fall in love and see the good in each other.
