I’m so happy to have received an arc of this authors debut!
Overall, super cute cowboy romance, while also dealing with heavier topics, such as grieving a parent.
I loved the found family and HOPE (fingers and toes crossed) for a Reid book. I loved him and the dynamic between him and the mc’s.
I always enjoy a good cowboy romance and love reading about the rodeo scene, so definitely pick this one up

I had the opportunity to beta read this book and let me tell you I can't even begin to say what an honor it's been to watch this book go from the beginning stages to this amazing piece of work. I am speechless at the emotion behind the writing in this book.
Colton and Ellison were such amazing, complex characters. Ellison's character development was one of my favorite parts of this story. She started as this black cat FMC who wanted nothing to do with rodeo, cowboys, and the life that comes with it. And she became this strong, independent woman who faced her fears and dealt with her insecurities and anxiety.
The slow burn was perfection in this book, and I loved their relationship together. Colter was a man made to take care of Ellison. He was so patient with her, didn't rush her, and took his time showing her that he could be the man she needed.
The most amazing cowboy romance with a very real plot line.

If you are wanting a real cowboy romance this is it! Definitely learned a lot about the rodeo and ranching life.
This book also handles the topics of grief with such real and human honesty. Loss comes in so many different forms, and people deal with it in a variety of ways. Ellison and Colter our MCs are no different. Their losses shaped them into who they are as individuals and what they become together. Healing isn’t linear and I’m so glad that is shown throughout the story.
Ellison our FMC is guarded, reserved and yet truly loves so fiercely when you’re someone she trusts. We see her struggle with grief and feeling like she can’t be enough and yet she is so incredibly fierce and strong.
Colter our MMC is kind, a little cocky, and so soft hearted. He loves without a second guess and gives so much. We see him struggle in a similar manner to Ellison and watch how he over comes his pain and loss.
These two together paint a picture of what it means to allow yourself to love after loss and work through our pains in order to become who we need to be for the person we love.

The Pieces We Lost is a roller coaster (in all the best ways of course). I definitely was all over with my emotions. However I wouldn't change it for the world. Colter and Ellison's story was hands down one of my favorite love stories so far. H.K. did and amazing job writing this with plot, twists, and romance. I am SO glad I was able to read this story and I can't wait for more. Trust me, you want to read this story ASAP because it's 10/10

This was the cutest, for me emotional read and definitely a new favorite. I loved Ellison and Colter both from the beginning. Being able to relate to Ellie. Being able to connect to a character is always something I love in a book. Colter was
