💫 I hated these books. Although Sibby was a fun character and this novella was a fun spin I am still not a fan.

I have a lot of thoughts about what I read and a lot of mixed feelings.
The writing, while brutally explicit at parts, somehow managed to come off childish at the same time. I felt like I was reading a story off of Wattpad that an angst filled middle schooler wrote.
I thought the premise held potential. The setting was something I was really interested in, but the overall tone had me rolling my eyes. I can handle horror novels, dark romances, etc., but this was something else entirely.

The one thing I really liked about the story was Silby’s backstory. The whole cult, abusive father storyline was interesting and helped me better understand Silby and her motivations. I wish there was more of that.

I think I could wrap my head around the whole plot, the entire story we read, being a delusion. However, the mental health representation made me feel so icky. I know people aren’t reading this story for proper mental health representation, but I think negative portrayal of mental illnesses only perpetuates stigmas surrounding mental illnesses.

I read this book before going into Haunting Adeline since it was recommended to me. I can handle dark themes and horror, but it’s annoying when those themes aren’t brought into the story in an interesting way.

Am in love or am I in love?
So freaking cute!
I mean cute would be that last word anyone would use to describe Sibby but…….tbh I’m straight but i wouldn’t mind being gay for her….she’s the best

Don’t blame me love made me crazy

Spoilers...sorta.

I swear I’m in love with her
Tho, it got seriously super dark in the end…..wtf those hot af henchmen I was crushing on weren’t real….?
I mean the six-some

I regret reading this after Hunting Adeline. I didn’t have it at the time and I was impatient but I think it ruined the experience of reading Sibby’s story with the things I knew from Hunting Adeline.

This one for me was a bit more gory and a harder read than Haunting and Hunting Adeline.

I'm giving this five 5 ⭐️. It's so good. It will keep you so into this story. There's a big twist at the end. I would read this first, then Haunting Adeline and last Hunting Adeline. They didn't have Satan's Affair at my book store when I found Haunting and Hunting. Sit back and enjoy the ride she takes you on.

challenging dark medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This book makes me want to start a travelling fair where I kill rapists and pedoph!les

To everyone who said I needed to read this to get a better understanding of the cat and mouse duet: you lied.

HD. Girl. What the fuck?

I may come back to this one day but it’s a dnf for now.

I am honestly not sure now I feel so I don’t want to assign a star rating. The actual story intrigued me and definitely held me in a grip….and then mindfu**ed me in the end. My heart when out to Sibby and I did feel her pain. And I understood {partially} what she was doing and going through, because of what made her.

BUT m, for me, the gore was just too over the. Yes I read the trigger warnings, and no, gore doesn’t bother me. But in this case it just felt like too much. Like a Saw movie.

But the story itself, the intro to Zade, and what was going to be coming in Haunting Adeline I loved!
