This book was very different from the previous Shifter Ops books. It can be read as a standalone, but the other books in the series were also enjoyable.

I didn't expect to like Gabriel, and I am not a big Dragon shifter fan. I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. Gabriel was not terrible. He was tortured. Tabitha was his soul mate. I thought that the way they were able to communicate was awesome.

There was some action, a little suspense, and some danger. After all, who can really expect dragons and wolves to get along? Lol!

This book was a sweet, steamy romance about two people with special abilities completing one another. It waa not what I was expecting, but it was a good read that I completed in one sitting. It felt like it was over too soon. I am glad that Gabriel and Tabitha were able to reach their HEA. 4.5 stars!

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This is the latest story in the Shifter Ops series and while it could be read as a standalone, it is probably best enjoyed if you've read the previous (Alpha's Revenge), since Gabriel was introduced then and Tabitha has been in since the start of the series. This book got off to a shaky start for me. Gabriel was over the top controlling and more than a little stalkery, and that Tabitha didn't seem overly worried about the whole kidnapped and moved internationally to a castle thing - I just couldn't grasp it. However, as we got to know more of Gabriel my option improved and by the end I quite liked this story. There were moments that I really liked, but I would have liked to get to know them each better. Even the surface of the characters has them having led such interesting lives yet we barely get to know anything.

Another delicious visit to the sexy Shifter OPs world. Renee and Lee always bring all the spice with some fast paced supernatural suspense and action. Tabitha and Gabriel have loads of that fated mate intensity, and it was fun to see Gabriel as our hero. And he’s all alpha dragon- that die for your mate, over the top, controlling and protective alpha charisma. The pacing wasn’t as ideal for me as in other books (resolution felt too packed, and Tabitha’s resistance dragged a bit for me), but as always I had a lot of fun and enjoyed this delicious escape into this world.

This is so much different than the others in the series, and not in a good way.

The Thornheart Trials keep getting better. I adored Willow and Warrick's story and the mystery involved. It was a total page-turner, and I wasn't sure A Vow of Ruin would be as good. Well, I was stunned at how much I enjoyed Draven and Iris' story. We have Iris' trial that she must complete, but we also have mistaken identity, missing girls, crones, and the continuing mystery of Rose's illness. Draven's background leading into the story is explained wonderfully. It is the perfect lead-in for his relationship with Iris, and the tension only mounts as they both fight against the pull they have toward each other. The supporting cast of Iris' family and the other supernatural beings in their town deepen the rich setting Sherilee has built around this series. One can read these books as stand-alone; however, I would not recommend it as you will miss each of the Thornhearts as they work to save their coven. It's only going to get better. The wait for the next one is going to be worth it.
