I am honestly so underwhelmed by this book. It caught my eye in the store and looked like a perfect spicy romance book. But once you get more than three chapters in, it's no longer worth it. This book plays heavily on the miscommunication trope, which I can't stand. Especially in a book trying to cover BDSM topics, which requires so much communication to be done properly. The two main characters just can't figure out how to have an adult conversation, and everyone around them is annoyingly cryptic. They keep building towards this sort of big bad secret about the male main character (I can't even remember their names) only to make the lamest reveal in the last three pages. Don't waste your time if you have high expectations for the book. The semi spicy scenes are the only thing that make it worth it

Honestly, that ending was kind of meh.

In Follow Me Darkly, you will meet Skye and Braden. She's an assistant to a social media influencer. He's a self-made billionaire. When they first meet, it's kind of awkward because him and her boss do not get along. Like at all. There's obviously some serious beef between them but the annoying thing about it is they never say what really went down. Like why they despise one another!?!

The unknown really frustrated me. Other than that, Skye is slightly obsessed with the guy, and he seems to only really want sex from her. While their relationship was more like friends with benefits, I wasn't completely invested in them. Sure, some of the smutty scenes were hot but they gave me a lot of whiplash.

In the end, I just have a lot of questions and if the ending was a real cliffhanger, well, I probably would have dived into the sequel right then and there. Unfortunately, it wasn't one in my eyes. So, in other words, I will be saying goodbye to this series and taking an uber into another one.

DNF’d this book. Never have I ever not finished a book. I got half way through and felt the story lacking any depth. It was shallow. And cringe-worthy. Just not for me. I would definitely try something else from this author though.

I received an advanced readers copy of Follow Me Darkly by Helen Hardt that will be released on September 29, 2020.

This is the first book of Helen’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I was hooked from the very beginning. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Skye and Braden.

The book does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn’t a surprise since it’s the first book in the Follow Me series. I can’t wait for the next book Follow Me Under to be released on January 26, 2021.

I would highly recommend if you like erotic romances or billionaire romances.

Wow - just wow. A tumultuous story of what it exactly means to give up control while still being true to yourself. Braden and Skye were captivating and their interactions in and out of the sheets had me a true believer in needing the perfect combination of give and take in any relationship. As with all of Helen Hardt's other series the reader certainly feels the same - I NEED more of this storyline....NOW!!

No thanks, not for me. The main character and love interest were not to my liking. Braden was a huge douche and had no character development and Skye had no insight as to why, just that he “has a dark side, one that I’m attracted to.” Her reasons for ending up in love with his are so flimsy and weak, a feather could knock them down.
He keeps telling her “I came from humble beginnings, why are you surprised that I (fill in the blank about something ‘people who don’t have money’ do)?” But then he comes back with “I don’t tell people how much I spend on things blah blah blah, I’m going to solve all of your problems because I’m Braden Black blah blah blah you’re my girlfriend now so get used to people wanting to know your lip color because on ME.”
I rolled my eyes so fucking hard I think I saw my own brain!
And from the very beginning she’s like “I always have to be in control, I watch everything, I never let myself drink too much. But that’s really her only example of control she gives. We are led to believe she thinks for herself, but every time Braden asks her a question she’s like “durr, I don’t know.” And the HE says “let meee tell you what you’re thinking”
And Skye responds “yeah, you’re right” and in her OWN personal narrative she says “yeah, Braden is always right.”
FUuuuudge dude! The more I write my review the more I dislike it. I couldn’t even invest myself in the actual sexy stuff because I was so annoyed.
Anyway, rant over.

Wow this book was so hard to put down!! I’m so glad I picked this book up and am definitely going to read the rest of the series!! Helen definitely has a way with words and the way the characters story unfolds is the best part!! Soo spicy so suspenseful
