I continue to feel like this series is ... fine. This one in particular is just fine, not amazing. I'm not sure when we'll get to a point where I can read about a grumpy soccer player and not picture Roy Kent.

One of the things I like about these books is the disability rep, but I didn't feel like that was as strong here. Oliver has anxiety but it's mostly under control? And Gavin is dealing with pain from being a professional athlete but i don't know, maybe because these are more common things and familiar to me, they didn't hit as hard.

We also have an age gap romance (Oliver is about 24, Gavin about 34) which I don't love, and I don't know ... I don't love when straight authors write queer stories, except if she wrote seven stories and they were all straight I would also be annoyed. And Oliver is bi, which is nice. I guess it just feels a bit token sometimes.

Also, we had the same narrator for the whole book, despite switching between two first person POV, and I didn't feel like the narrative differences were strong enough that I could know who was POV easily.

A queer romance which has enemies to lover, grumpy-sunshine, sports and age-gap romance with the famous one bed trope. I loved the story and had fun reading it. But I wont call it my favorite of the series. I will point out that I hate when books have a lot of pop culture refrences. People like me who have not seen Hamilton or the other musicals might feel a bit left out from the banter. Also, this book reminded me sooo much of Kulti by Mariana Zapata

My fave of the series so far!!!!

Oliver and Viggo are probably my favourite Bergman brothers, so I was ridiculously excited for Oliver's book. Liked seeing Oliver start out as a teenager in Ryder and Willa's story (book 1) and mature through his siblings eyes over the last 4 books. Now, book 5, Ollie is definitely a changed character but he retains a lot of his youthful charm. Seeing Gavin balance him out was wonderful. However, was it just me or were the smutty scenes toned down a lot more in this book than in the previous 4 books? Wondering if the author was a bit uncomfortable/unknowledgeable in this area so she had more vague descriptions or fade to black moments.

Each one of these books I love more and more. The characters are so real and well rounded humans, you cannot help but fall in love with them as they fall for each other. Such a cute read and wonderful love story
