karya keigo yg pertama kali aku baca

Awalnya kurang suka sama chapter-chapter awal, karena terasa wasting time. Waktu masuk chapter detektif Kaga menemukan titik terang, makin kesel lagi karena suspect terkuatnya ga ada kaitannya sama tokoh-tokoh di chapter-chapter sebelumnya. Eh, masuk chapter akhir baru paham esensi kejadian-kejadian sebelumnya. I've almost cried few times while reading this book. Kisah-kisah tokohnya relate banget.

Only give it 4⭐ because I hate it when detective Kaga suddenly appeared out of nowhere and the narration keep repeating "He's Kyoichiro Kaga, detective from...", like okay okay we read that information since the 1st chapter. We knew who he is

Usually I picked up a thriller/mystery to be entertained. Aku mau masuk ke dunianya dan aku mau dibuat nebak-nebak. AND THATS WHAT I GOT.

Cuman aku gak nyangka kalau ceritanya formatnya seperti ini—karakternya banyak dan terkesan random, jadi bikin bertanya-tanya gimana semua bakal terhubung di akhir. My kind of shit. AKU GAK NYANGKA TERNYATA BUKUNYA HEARTWARMING. I went in expecting tension, excitement, something closer to Agatha Christie or Detective Conan. Sure, a murder case is on the way and we have a puzzle to be solved, but vibe-wise its just as wholesome and heartwarming as Dallergut.

Safe to say im adding more Keigo Higashino books to my tbr.

I picked up the audiobook for this one as I'm currently working my way through the third translated novel in this series (not the third book in the series as a whole), and there's something so comforting in the way this one is written. I also love Kaga, it's clear how sympathetic of a man he is toward those involved in cases and how he analyses

While dealing with the case, it progresses through all these different snapshots into other people's lives that our victim has had contact with while Kaga gets used to his new surroundings in the Nihonbashi area.

This is a light read in the mystery genre that I personally find to be cozy, although doesn't fit the requirements of that subgenre of mysteries, with no stakes. Just a simple mystery that takes you on a journey through the victim's life leading up to her death.

Intriguing with a very unique story layout. Keigo Higashino is amazing at writing characters and making them grow in just a few chapters. I highly recommend this book.

i enjoyed reading this one so much!

the main character, detective Kaga is very calm and collective… he pays a lot of attention to the smallest details and that’s kinda attractive hshshsjhjkk
