All I wanted was an edge-of-your-seat locked door thriller, and while it had the second half, I wasn't really on the edge of my seat. They are all locked in the Inn because of a bad snowstorm. There are a lot of characters, and since they don't label the character switches in third person, you just have to make sure that you are paying attention. I thought that it was fine. I just wish that it kept me on the edge of my seat more.
The murderer ended up being a woman, I forget which one. But she is caught because she loses her earring, and at the time, there is an earring underneath the dead body that they found. She started her murdering because she was in the foster care system, and one of the other guests, I think Dana, was the bully to her in the orphanage.
Overall, like I said before, I wanted it to keep me on the edge of my seat, and it just didn't. I didn't find myself reaching toward the book.

Der zehnte Gast hat mir genau das beschert, was ich in dem Moment lesen wollte. Einen spannenden und athmosphärischen, sehr klassischen Who-done-it-Krimi. Es hat Spaß gemacht mit zu rätseln und ich fand insgesamt war die Lösung plausibel. Gut gefallen hat mir, das die Autorin es geschafft hat glaubwürdige Zufälle in die Handlung einzubauen. Tatsächlich spielte ihr da das ganze Setting in die Hände. Insofern ist der Roman auch sehr klug konstruiert.

I did suspect the actual killer but the motive was way different. The end was definitely a shock.
The characters were well written and the book moved at a good pace. Such murder mysteries tend to focus too much on different people’s perspectives and theories however, this book did not waste time on those things any more than necessary. That was probably what made the book so enjoyable. As an Agatha Christie fan myself, I can totally see why her fans loved this murder mystery.
