I liked the little interviews the author has with his friends and family, looking back. Also nice to see he had their support.

I loved the story-telling style. Stopping the flashback every so often to get input on what his parents were going through at the time. It's nice to see that although they were scared and struggling, they still chose to love and accept their child.
