I really enjoyed this book! Lovely writing, a great message, and anyone who knows me will know that I looove fairytales, so this was really fun for me to read. A bit... weird, maybe, but I'm sure all will be resolved as I continue with the series. All in all it's probably one of my new favorites, I really enjoyed it!

This one aged quite well, obviously the writing is not as deep as twelve year old me thought it was.. but I’ll chalk that up to my age and not a fault with the book, it is middle grade after all. I did find myself more frustrated with agatha and sophie’s dynamic, and it felt a bit wishy washy the idea that the good “forgive” as a way to excuse sophie’s behaviour. But again a fun story and I can’t help but still love agatha and tedros.. maybe that’s me placing myself as the main character

Lumayan, tapi belum ngena. Udah lama minjem di ijak tapi libur semester 3 baru kesampaian mbacanya. Bagian awal cukup memancing.

This is a really fun read that definitely helped me escape from my reading slump. It’s a really interesting concept and explores the idea of the difference between the appearance of goodness and real goodness. I really like Agatha as a character and think Sophie is irritating but in an intentional way. Obviously this book isn’t aimed at my age demographic so a few of the jokes fall a little short for me but it’s thoroughly enjoyable and I liked rereading it.

Five Stars!
Agatha and Sophie are friendship goals. Agatha and Sophie shouldn't be friends at all because they are too different, Sophie is selfish and narrow minded while Agatha is bitter but faithful. One of them is a witch, the other is a princess. But somehow they work. Without the other bad things would happen.
Sophie struggles with the evil thoughts she has every now and then. Agatha despite being labeled a witch all her life struggles with wanting to be pretty and good. And at the end Soman teaches us readers a valuable lesson, that we should do away with labels in life. Because we are all just human. With conflicting struggles of good and evil in us. That explains why we randomly do bad things that even shock us and decide to make peace with our enemies.

Loved this in elementary school. Probably read it upwards of 10 times.
