This was a fun, dual POV, Fall Sapphic romance between Jenny, a bisexual influencer from California and Blake, her former high school classmate and all around amazing small town lesbian doctor.
After nearly getting cancelled, Jenny is trying to recover her reputation embracing all things wholesome and New England in the Fall when her best friend Amanda asks her to help Blake plan her bachelorette.
Sparks fly as the two are continually forced to work together and eventually they strike up a no strings attached, 'let's bang out our feelings' arrangement.
I thought both women were relatable, loved the tight-knit, small town community, the dyslexia rep (Jenny), all the Jane Austen vibes AND the adorable pets! Recommended for fans of authors like Ashley H Blake or Alexandria Bellefleur.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for a complimentary early copy. I voluntarily read this book and all opinions are my own. I'm excited to read George's story next!

This is the perfect sapphic, fall rom com! I loved Blake but learned I do not like reading books about influencers - I did like Jenny but for some reason the scenes where she complained about influencing I cringed a little. I'm glad she discovers her self worth and learns what else she is capable of besides social media. Read if you love fall, some spice, Jane Austen bachelorette parties, and the sweetest small town. Of course I loved Walter and Fred and all the side characters so I can't wait for the next one!

Thank you to Elizabeth Luly and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I quite enjoyed this fall-themed rom-com about an unlikely pairing between a doctor and a social media influencer. This has a ton of cozy elements that give it Hallmark-vibes, while also discussing some themes that give this book depth.
After reading another fall-based rom-com ARC I was looking for another book to scratch that itch and this definitely succeeded. I absolutely loved the way Luly wrote about the small town of Sapphire Springs, the beautiful lush autumn foliage, the community bookstore-café that everyone in the town frequents and the fall-themed activities that were featured.
I really loved that the author chose to represent Jenny’s career as a socially acceptable choice, and one that requires a lot of work at that. No matter what people choose as their careers, no job is more acceptable than another.
I thought the romance between Jenny and Blake was great albeit a little rushed. It felt as though they were really quite cold toward each other and then quickly got together with little obstacle. The time they spend together however, is incredibly sweet. If you are a fan of farms in autumn (*cough* corn mazes, apple-flavoured doughnuts, tractor-rides *cough*) then you’ll love this book.

A small town, sapphic romance?? SAY LESS!
Social media influencer, Jenny, has an unfortunate online scandal that leads her to extend her stay in her hometown. Blake is the small town's only doctor, and has had a huge crush on Jenny since high school. Jenny and Blake now are forced to work together to help with their friend's bachelorette party and wedding... and this is a romance so I'm sure you can guess the rest.
I loved this! Definitely gave me 'Deliliah Green Doesn't Care" vibes, being sapphic, set in a small town, wedding planning, and characters having a crush since high school.
I really enjoyed that Blake was so awkward around Jenny due to her nerves. She was super sweet and relatable. Plus her 'middle age man' texting techniques were hilarious, and I agree with Jenny that the thumbs up emoji is in fact sarcastic unless coming from a dad or grandpa.
I was giggling and blushing throughout with: "I'd still optimistically cut my fingernails this afternoon, hoping the night might end at Blake's" plus the whole bald eagle thing, and the epilogue

Thank you NetGalley and West Brunswick Press for this cozy cute arc!
3.75/5 stars rounded up!
This was a perfect palate cleanser book. It's a cute, sweet, predictable romance that give you cozy fall vibes and warm fuzzies. I liked the alternating perspectives, but sometimes it seemed like their personalities were so similar I forgot which one I was reading about. Very cheesy, very predictable, but sometimes you just need that in your life and I am here for it! Spice was really good, too!

This book gives all the cozy, cute fall vibes! I loved that there wasn’t over the top angst or big plot drama. It read like a sapphic Hallmark movie.
If you’re like me and can’t wait for fall, then Not Just Gal Pals is the perfect cozy fall-vibe book for you.
Jenny is an influencer that gets canceled who returns to her hometown for a wedding and to hide out while the bad press dies down. As soon as she returns she runs into Blake, someone she’s known since high school, who has always hated her. Of course Blake has had a huge lesbian crush on Jenny since she was 14 and doesn’t know how to act normal around her. The two find themselves working together on their mutual friend's wedding and become closer and agree to a temporary friends-with-benefits situation until Jenny returns to California.
I really enjoyed this book. Jenny and Blake are idiots who are constantly embarrassing themselves in front of each other, but who also have very sweet moments together and great chemistry. If you’re looking for the perfect fall read, with a sweet romance, and great side characters, then I highly recommend Not Just Gal Pals.
