Prepare to be utterly enchanted! The Witch's Pet by Kerri Andrews is an amazing fantasy romance that captivated me from the very first page. Seriously, once I started, I could not put this book down – it’s that good. Andrews masterfully builds a world brimming with magic and intrigue, but it's the palpable tension woven throughout the narrative that truly kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when you think you have things figured out, the book throws in unexpected plot twists that will leave your jaw on the floor. This isn't just a romance; it's an adventure with stakes that feel incredibly real. The blend of fantasy elements with a compelling romantic arc is seamless, creating a story that is both thrilling and deeply satisfying. Kerri Andrews has crafted something truly special here, and I genuinely believe everyone who enjoys a good fantasy or a captivating romance will be absolutely swept away by The Witch's Pet. My only complaint? I need the next book ASAP! Kerri Andrews, please tell me it's coming soon because I'm already desperate to dive back into this world.

This was such a good book! I was hooked right from the beginning. I felt very connected Sitri and Pandora and I loved their exchanges and banter, and there were a lot of unique elements to the story. Definitely worth the read if you like fairy tale retellings, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and arranged marriage!

This book is a play on Thumbelina, with enough elements of it for you to get the connection while still being surprised by the differences. I loved this because so many fairy tale retelling feature the same stories over and over again so this was refreshing! And I loved Thumbelina as a child.

Thank you to Kerri Andrews for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Right. Okay.

I had zero expectations when it came to this book. I read the blurb and it sounded good, but having never read anything from this author I went in blind.

The author creates such a remarkable world with fantastic world building that I loved reading through and learning more about the world - how the life’s and thinking differed between the shrouded/ people of Eden and the magi was really interesting, especially the years, where the magi were living in the present and the shrouded were living in the 600s.

Misunderstanding 1 - They’re wondering through the woods, that have like monsters and stuff in them, he doesn’t tell her anything. He kills a monster type called myling that are like children - so girlie pops has heard that these witches/magi kill kids and now she’s seen it- girlie runs, and he’s thinking damn she’s running from the myling. No my bro she’s running from you. Also he doesn’t explain to her that those were monsters, not real kids, so now she’s just terrified of him and  convinced that all the rumours about the witches are true. This misunderstanding is sorted though after a few chapters.

Cheating - he cheats on her. She’s literally outside his bedroom sleeping on a sofa and he brings a girl in, they both have to walk past her and go into his room. She can hear everything that they’re doing. Poor girl. And then when he’s done he brings the girl out and then begins talking to the fmc. It’s so disrespectful. Like I know you didn’t want this marriage but you shouldn’t cheat cause of that. Like where’s the respect man. Good news though, it was a very short part of the book, maybe a page or so long so not too bad. I wish there was a warning for this, as if there was I wouldn’t have read it.

There were trigger warnings for many of the things throughout the book that would be triggering, except for one thing. Cheating.

Overall, I really liked it. Once Sitri(mmc/witch) and Pandora (fmc/shroud) get closer and become friends/lovers it gets so much better, as an enemies to lovers would. It ends on a cliff hanger so I can’t wait to read the next book.

Tropes included:
Enemies to lovers
Arranged marriage
Touch her and die (kind of)
Virgin fmc x experienced mmc

Finally, Thank You Author Kerri Andrews for this Advanced Readers Copy.
