Excellent twisty plot

Pictures from Berlin 1941 discovered in a secret drawer in an attic spark a confrontation between family members, which leads to an epic tale of espionage and love in wartorn Europe. Just when you think you have the secrets untangled, there's more to learn...

This was a good read. It had many things that I enjoy: WWII, strong female characters, love, back and forth between the past and present... There was a slight twist at the end that I was not expecting.

Easy to read, I didn’t want to put it down. Figured out the twist a bit early, some pretty heavy foreshadowing but otherwise, really enjoyed it.

Great Read

Beautiful World War II love story with a different twist. I couldn’t put this book down. I was in suspense until the very end.

For some reason, I am TOTALLY drawn to books about WWII. As a rule, they are usually well written, researched completely, and have a beautiful storyline. This book was NO exception to the rule!!

I loved this book from the moment that I read the first page. The characters were so real and developed that I was into the book and had great difficulty putting it down. So much so that I tried to finish it before bed last night and couldn't keep my eyes open - it is THAT kind of book!!

Thank you Julianne MacLean for writing such a lovely book that I will remember forever!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It was a lovely story, but a bit drawn out. I would have enjoyed it more if it was one long flashback, instead of returning to the present now and than.
