Pensaba que no lo acababa…
De verdad que el primero me gustó mucho más. Si bien hay que leerlo desde una perspectiva más inmadura, ya que la novela está dirigida creo yo, hacia un público más joven, ha sido exasperante.
Inez representa muy bien el papel de damisela en apuros, es infantil e ingenua hasta rabiar, se presenta como una rebelde y lo que es en realidad es una insensata. He sido incapaz de identificarme con ella y lo que quería es que se resolviera el argumento lo antes posible.
Ha sido un libro lento de leer porque me ha aburrido soberanamente, plot twists predecibles y una trama amorosa alargada y sinsentido.
Lo único que me ha interesado ha sido la nota de la autora donde aclaraba la verdadera historia de muchos monumentos y ciudades egipcias así como eventos que se mencionan en el libro.

After doubting whether it was even worth continuing the series, I ended up liking the second book much more than I had expected. We already know the characters' weaknesses (e.g. Inez's naivety), which is why I didn't find them so annoying anymore and thought they were less pronounced in the second volume. The plot was quite interesting and focuses more on uncovering the political and family entanglements/intrigues in this volume. Once again, Inez is not spared anything she has to endure. As in the first book, there are some strong plot twists that I didn't see coming. Unfortunately, there were also a few minor plot holes, but they didn't bother me much. Unlike some others, I found the development of the romance between Whit and Inez very good in this book and it was one of the strongest aspects of the story for me. Overall, the series came to a nice ending and is an interesting and entertaining story.
