The Lost Hero - the first book in the Heroes of Olympus series follows the events of the OG Percy Jackson series, but there’s a catch - Percy is missing. Jason, who can’t remember who he is or where he came from, Piper and Leo, who have seemingly known Jason for a while, are all thrust into the world of mythology whilst on a field trip to the Grand Canyon. Following disastrous events on this trip, the are whisked away with Annabeth, who has been told that Jason is the key to finding the missing demigod.
This book in true Riordan fashion is a blast of a read. Easy and fun, quick and intriguing. His writing and comical form of his words make his books such a delight to read. This series, I can imagine, will continue to make twists and turns that’ll have me fooled, but man, am I excited.
A well deserved 5 star read to kick off this series.

Great book starting off a new chapter in the lives of these kids, but putting Percy and the others on the back burner to introduce some new characters. Once again, Riordan writes great teenagers and their interactions. From jealousy to teamwork. Absolutely fantastic.
