Another of Carter's books that I can't put down. Finished this in 4 hours straight. Hunter and Garcia are assigned to a new case, the worst they've had so far. There are no words for the killings other than pure evil and intense suffering. The serial killer this time is different from others they've encountered. The killer does not stick to just one M.O. His method of killing differs from victim to victim.
Before the end, I guessed some of the twists but it does not take away from the story. I enjoyed reading the book and the crimes are even more gruesome that the last. Carter is really creative in coming up with these so I'm looking forward to see how it will be topped in his following books.

Chris Carter is amazing in keeping us on the edge, trying to find the killer until the very end, when he ties everything up in a surprising way.
Also, really loved the cute vibes between Hunter and Mollie.

I am aware that I give 5 stars to many of the books I read and review on here, therefore I am trying to rate them a bit more harshly. However with The Executioner-like most of Chris Carter's books I've read-I cannot find fault, it is flawless. Everything you'd expect/want from a dark murder mystery. It's gritty, gruesome, terrifying, detailed but not too descriptive so it just gets on with the action. Not for the faint hearted!
I couldn't stop reading it and I (like always, I'll admit) had no idea who the killer was and was amazed at Robert Hunter's ability to piece the case together. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Amazing, amazing, amazing!
I was hooked by the first few pages.
Intense, horrifying, not for the weak of heart (or stomach!) and so many good twists, I didn’t seen the main one coming at all.
Would recommend.

My least favourite of the Robert Hunter series so far. But with a 4 star review it’s still really good.
The other books in the series are REAL page turners, this one however has a fantastic beginning, a boring middle and a move epic finish!
I think maybe the side story of the physic could have just been removed it didn’t add anything it just extended the story in an unnecessary way.
Looking forward to the third instalment in the series!

Solider Thriller mit auffällig grausamen und abscheuchlichen Mordmethoden. Insgesamt hat mich der Fall aber nicht vom Hocker gehauen.
