Novi omiljeni serijal!

While I was skeptical about this book and the series in itself, since I didn't really like The Crucifix Killler, I continued with it and I'm glad I did so cause The Executioner turned out to be much better than the former. Gonna check out the third one in the series in hope of finding it an enjoyable read as well.

Third book by Chris Carter, and I'm still amazed with his writing style. As always, the plot and characters are well written. I love seeing how the partnership between Detective Hunter and Gracia getting more personal. The crimes are as always damn *chef kiss* gory.

Definitely recommended to those who enjoy reading psychological thriller books. But! Before reading, do search up on the trigger warnings.

Okay, it's official, Chris Carter is my new favorite author!

This book sucks you in from the very first page and does not let go until you're finished. The chapters are all short and designed to keep you reading. The cliffhangers at the end of every chapter added more excitement and anticipation.

I have been trying to find some more disturbing reads than the typical thriller genre and damn this series fits the bill. I thought the first one would be hard to match but Carter exceeds it here. This second book by Chris Carter didn’t disappoint. The Executioner was more gruesome than The Crucifix Killer and I'm here for it!

The Executioner may not be for the squeamish but it is definitely for me. It is exactly what I like in my murder/serial killer/thriller reads. The crime scenes are very gruesome and should be read only by someone with a strong stomach. But if you've been reading thrillers for a long time and have been feeling let down by the genre, you need to pick this series up RIGHT NOW!

What I absolutely love is that Chris has written characters that you have formed a relationship with and care about. I love the partnership between Robert Hunter and Carlos Garcia and would probably say that they are my favourite cop duo.

On top of fantastic characters, Chris also writes a storyline that has you totally in its grips! Thoroughly enjoyed this book and would seriously recommend it to lovers of this genre.

Apart from the well written main characters, you also are awarded a deep dive into the killer’s motives. You can tell Chris was a criminal psychologist before he switched careers. His ability to get into the mind of the killer and his motives is so refreshing to read.

I've had people tell me you can read this series out of order, but I highly recommend that you not do that. You miss the building of important relationships and you won't understand all the little bits along the way.

Action-packed, thrilling, heart-pounding and creative! I simply can not get enough. On to the next book!

I liked this book more than I thought I would and it only took me a couple days to finish hence why such a high rating.
The crimes were very gory, very gruesome and there were some very detailed descriptions of them which is something I liked a lot. Though the main detective guy was one of them genius types (like Reed in Criminal Minds) who loved to say "I read a lot" which did get slightly annoying, I was kept interested throughout. Ending was solid, maybe I wished for one more crime scene maybe it would've been too much. Anyway, good crime fiction book.
