I loved this much more than Book 1 because I couldn't guess the main killer at all. I loved the dual case scenario going on here which was an unique experience for me though I did guess the killer for the secondary case. I just love Carlos Garcia even more than Robert Hunter and we got to see even more of Garcia here which was a treat for me. Overall the plot was unique enough that I remained hooked till the very end. Jumping directly onto the next installment. These audiobooks are addictive and I love the narration so much.

There are trigger warnings you need to be aware of, if you decide to read this fabulous book. There is talk of: bullying, rape, incest, physical and mental abuse.

This was just as good as the first, if not better. Bodies piling up. Detectives Hunter and Garcia have never seen anything like these killings before. The killer has spent a lot of time figuring out what these victims are scared to death of, and the way he kills them is unimaginable (at least to me).

I liked the fact that there was a red herring. It kept my interest. Plus, there was good character development, which is always a plus when reading a series. Also, it was interesting because I couldn't figure out who the killer(s) were. I was surprised by the reveal.

I recommend this series, if you like Serial Killers, Suspense, Thrillers, Police Procedurals or mysteries.

😊 Happy Reading 🙃

Chris Carter's writing feels like speeding towards a cliff, then being jerked away right before you fall off. It takes someone very talented to write the kind of brutality and violence featured so realistically and make it believable. The Executioner was once again very fast paced and so deeply satisfying in the end. Both books I have read now are so well planned, with every motive being realistic enough that it makes you think and question things even in real life.

There are a fair few trigger warnings in this one, so definitely check those out if that is something you may need. This series is definitely not for the faint of heart.
