It was fine! I thought the MC was cute and age-appropriate (aka she was a bit immature and irritating at times, but who isn't at that age.) I thought the romance was fun. The end was kind of far-fetched and reminiscent of someone who does not know how social media and online fundraising works.
I was very surprised to see this as a NPR Book of the Year. It wasn't very impactful and seemed to be written for a young audience.

3.5 stars. An easy and enjoyable read about a teen at “digital detox” summer camp. The main characters were all likable, though why Side Braid hated Sunny from day 1 was never explained and I didn’t love Sunny framing her at the end with her photo. But it was a nice one-day read.
A fun, lighthearted look at the perils of social media and tech addiction! Los Angeles teen Sunny's parents ship her off to tech detox camp on a farm in Iowa to break her connection to her YouTube Channel and expose her to life outside of the internet. A fun way to discuss our fascination with social media, those who are slaves to their feed or their channel, whether technology helps us or hurts us. Also great for talking about opening ourselves up to how others live, city vs. country.
3 stars.
for what it is, i actually really enjoyed it! sunny was a fun protagonist to follow along and i really liked her relationship with theo. i just wish that it was a little bit shorter (the middle dragged quite a bit) and that the dialogue wasn't so... cheesy? everything felt stilted which really didn't help in the slower parts, and it's an issue i had with park's other books, too. but this was still super cute, and it kinda made me miss the summer i worked on a farm/petting zoo (i just want to feed a baby goat again PLEASE)

Pretty good. Nothing crazy about this book, nice plot and characters!
*2.5*
I have so many mixed feelings towards this book. I genuinely thought that this would be right up my alley, as I read a lot of YA contemporary romances, but I was left pretty unsatisfied when I finished it.
Some of the things I enjoyed:
-Takes place at a farm. Ever since I got into Stardew Valley I've had such a strong appreciation for things farm based, and this was no exception.
-Relatively cute romance. While it wasn't perfect, and it didn't quite make my heart race, they were still a cute pairing, with nice chemistry.
-Korean rep. I love seeing things involving different cultures, especially when that culture is Korean. I just wish there could've been more
Some of the things I didn't enjoy:
-The reason Sunny gets sent to the farm felt way overblown and overdramatic. It was obviously a mistake, and if any one had actually watched the video in the first place, they would've realized that.
-Felt too preachy. There were so many scenes where I felt like the author was talking down to the audience about technology usage. I agree that people do overdo it, I just wish it could've been handled a little differently.
-Not enough time spent showing Sunny trying out new things at the camp. Given what the story was about, I thought we would've had more focus on that aspect. Plus it would've been really fun.
-The ending felt rushed, and a little too unbelievable. I usually like idealized endings, but this was a bit overboard in my opinion.
Overall not a bad book, just not for me. I mainly picked this up for the summer vibes, but Kasie West has a couple books that feel way more like summertime to me, like her newest release Sunkissed (which is also about a summer camp, and has a romance that is much better sooo).

The depiction of Iowa was completely overkill. I understand there are SOME farms but they are not all hillbillys who eat lots of Arby's. Theodore's farm jokes were super lame and Sunny seemed like every typical internet-addicted teen ever. While this book was not my favorite, it was certainly not as bad as another book I've read from this author. So yeah, review over, peace out everybody.
