Earlier today this book was sitting at 3.5 star territory but the last 100 pages brought it up. I finally felt like I knew El and all of her friends. I saw depth in the characters instead of these kindof shallow characters that they felt up until then. The housewarming party is where it started to solidify for me. I love Sally. She was so sweet and I loved her.
also the bit at the karaoke party where she talked about her husband made me quite weepy
I liked the book and it made me weepy at certain points and I just ended up liking it a lot more than I originally did. Good read!

this book made me feel less shit about how hideously confusing your late 20s are. the main character is so loveable, as are all the people in her life in their own weird ways to be honest. an uplifting read, which i really needed.

simply couldn’t do it. couldn’t follow the writing and the intro was confusing and there are too many characters to keep up with at first and just didn’t understand the intention behind the interactions

I enjoyed this story a lot. The only reason I didn't rate it a five is because I felt like it was missing the context or build-up of why the main character had such a huge crush on her friend. And I get that for this particular story the main focus was that she had had this crush for ages but I think I needed more of the why or the how she developed her massive crush rather than it simply being a statement of fact.
