Informative in a sufficient amount.

informative

Interesting for content regarding sugar addiction. Recipes not so usefully organised.
informative medium-paced

This book contains some good information on what causes diabetes and how it gradually worsens over time. It is easy to read and understand and in my opinion, offers sound advice on how to potentially reverse or prevent diabetes. In fact, I am interested and motivated now to try the author's method myself as I am insulin resistant. The author not only discusses diet, but also exercise, sleep and stress reduction techniques and offers some recipes. I would recommend this book for anyone struggling with Type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes or insulin resistance. Thanks to Netgalley for providing a review copy of this book.
informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

As a type 2 diabetic I found this book interesting. My diabetes nurse recommended it to me and I remembered I'd bought a copy last year but hadn't read it. I'm going to give it a go.

Positives: there is at least some science (if tentative) behind this, and it feels intuitively right. What it does best is scare the hell out of anyone thinking if they have diabetes. That should inspire the diet. But, not for me for personal reasons, and I doubt for many in the long run. If weight creeps in easy after yo-yo diets, I can't see how blood sugar wouldn't, even more so. Anyway, got me interested in the 5:2 version.

Reserving judgement on the final score but heavily in the fours for the moment.

Very interesting - makes you rethink!
