I was given an ARC for an honest review.

Roxie Roberts is the IT girl of Hollywood. She lives the dream, someone else's dream. She has no say over anything in her life and worse no idea how to change it.

Enter mysterious masked men, an assassination, and her step brother coming back from the dead...No, not zombies. Killed in action but not really dead, Fox has been laying low. He never wanted this to happen and he thought being dead would fix it.

Apparently, he was wrong.

So Hollywood starlet and trained killer go on a road trip...and that's just where the fun starts!

It's an entertaining story and plenty of fun action.
I enjoyed it.

This was the first book by Tabatha Kiss that I've read and it won't be my last. The story pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn't put the book down until I finished it.

Fox disappeared after kissing Tabatha the night of her 18th birthday. His family believed him to be dead for years. However, a secret group of assassins targeting Tabatha brings him out of hiding to protect her.

I really liked the characters and plot. What can I say? I enjoy when the action is great, both in and out of bed. This was a really great story.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Good story

This was a great read. I really enjoyed the story line and the characters. Dani and Fox are well written and fun. I liked their relationship and how they interacted with each other. There is plenty of action in this story to keep your attention and engaged. The sex was explicit when we got there but it's not frequent. The story unfolded very well and flows smoothly. I'm excited to check out the next one.

A fast paced, action packed ride. Definite Big Screen Material. (Quick someone call Roxie Roberts for the lead.)

Q: So, Dani (AKA Roxie Roberts-Big Screen Star and America's sweetheart) "Having a near-death experience is... fun."? A: Especially when you share it with your recently returned from the dead stepbrother (AKA the oh so hot and tempting Fox Fitzpatrick). Q: What does that say about your life? A: Maybe that all the fame, money, glitz and glamour in the world doesn't mean anything. Not when all you really want is for the man you love to do oh "so much more to your body than guard it" no matter what your controlling father, adoring public, (or oh yeah the super secret group of deadly assasins hell-bent on killing you both) think or want. Q: But what do you do when the biggest obstacle is that same man? When he's determined to protect you from everything and everyone, including himself? A: Sometimes, a woman has to take matters into her own hands and make him see what you both really deserve. "I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review." said Jo Law (AKA a Tabitha Kiss fan).

I really wanted to like this book, and for the most part I did. After joining the military, Fox unwillingly ended up in a very dangerous secret organization as an assassin. Fox was the super sacrificial hero. Everything he did was motivated by his love for Dani and to protect his family.

I found the first scene difficult and unnecessary. Fox with an "escort" who looks like Dani...just weird. Readers will understand exactly what I mean when this part is read.

Dani's father (Fox's stepfather) was a jackass to the "nth" power. He treated Dani like a child, and she let him. She's like 23, but no backbone whatsoever! It was quite infuriating!

And Dani! Ugh! I really wanted to like her because she's the girl Fox loves but had to give up. I just could not connect with her. There was just too much push-pull with her and she knew she was in danger. I wanted to sympathize with her because she grieved him, thinking he was dead but I just didn't feel it. It's crazy because Dani was forward, feisty, and sassy with everyone but that uptight, manipulative father of hers.

I did love the other characters though. Boxcar, Caleb, and Mrs. Clark were awesome, and they definitely added dimension to the story.

I hope I'm not coming off as super picky. I've read other Tabitha Kiss books that I absolutely love!

I picked this up without realizing the love interests were step-siblings. When I figured it out I thought I could ignore it and continue on but it was making me really uncomfortable so I’m putting it down.
