I have read this series from the beginning and I was hooked from the first chapter of that book. Now, here it is, book four, and the series continues to be a well-written thrill-ride with a great plot and great characters. Readers can’t help but be drawn into the romance between Iannis and Sunaya, which is slow and sweet, and fans are rewarded in this book with some advancement in their romance, which was a wonderful surprise. Also, there were some questions answered in the overall plot arc that have been with us since the beginning, tying the threads up nicely, and new questions introduced to take us into book five. The only drawback to this book was it felt like there was a little less action than in previous books and a feel that there wasn’t quite as much plot. Not enough to temper my enjoyment of the book, but just enough to be a tiny bit noticeable. Don’t let that dissuade you, however, because this book is a great edition to the series. If you haven’t read this series, I do recommend you start at the beginning and work your way to this one. The books are a little similar to Jasmine Galenorn, Kim Harrison, and Nalini Singh. This book and series are really worth the time and money. I highly recommend this book to everyone!

I had the opportunity to read an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
I expected this book to be filled with action, mystery, and magic. I was not disappointed!
I love that we are seeing Sunaya mature into her magic & learning to accept both sides of herself, Mage & Shifter. I cannot wait to see where this leads as she continues to learn & develop all of her abilities.
We are left satisfied that this chapter has come to a close, but with the knowledge that not all questions have been answered & they will be touched on in the future as the story continues. It keeps you intrigued & I cannot wait until the next book comes out, so I am able to delve more into this world that had been created.

Continues to be a fun series, but without much depth or emotional attachment to the characters. I enjoy reading their stories but don't worry about them.

Another great storyline!
Great story overall, I just had a few issues I couldn’t come to terms with. Namely, if the mage part of town was warded for only mages to come and go, why wouldn’t the resistance be staking out the wards trying to catch Sunaya on the kill order. They come across really incompetent in this regard.

Being hunted by the enemy is not easy, but our heroine stay’s ahead. Action-Packed Adventure. Great UF series.

4.5 stars. I read this in one sitting. These books just keep getting better. The world building, the (slow slow slow burn) romance, the magic and tech, all of it! Highly recommended.

Finally, the burn.
There's light at the end of the tunnel, but still... Cliffhanger.
This is truly the never ending story. I'm hooked obviously, but I'm worried there will come a time when I'm not.
