This book is about grief and three generations of women’s who are mourning their partners. They were all in emotionally charged relationships but I loved how it explored the way each woman griefed differently. It was an easy read and had powerful themes.

Made me tear up at times and I felt for most of the characters. Didn’t like Yésica too much but I still loved the story.

The story is excellent. A wonderful read if you're struggling to cope with loss, anger, hurt. And an opportunity to find hope and redemption in broken or badly damaged relationships.

Even though the book deals with heavy topics we as women face, it wasn't a heavy read. Fast-paced, engaging, and a nice little twist at the end.

Accurate portrayal of how — at some point in our lives — we would benefit from spending time in a recovery group.

Very much enjoyed learning about Chicana culture. Especially the food!

I have become a very fast fan of Annette Chavez Macias' books and jumped at the chance to get an early copy of this book. It's a great story of how three women navigate life and get through generational traumas. While they all share the title of widow, each one has their own story unique to them. I wish Goodreads would start letting us give half stars as I wanted to rate this 4.5 stars. I personally would have loved more background from Mama Melda, but I also understand that the central characters of this book was Ana (mother) and Yesica (daughter). Beautifully written.
