The spice was good. Great hence the 3 stars but Estrella annoyed me too many times. Like girl no. No one would do that or think that. Ugh drove me crazy. At points I was like I really don’t care what happens to her. Apparently book 3 ends on a cliffhanger but I haven’t decided if I have it in me to read it. SJM has just ruined me and I’m trying to not put others to the same standard.
Cringey smut, toxic characters, constant lore dumping in place of plot. And also did they really spent 2/3 of the book walking in a circle.
This was the bed book and they were sections, so just went on way too long… Some of the details are excessive and repetitive. The story still there… But it felt like a book written to have sex scenes rather than continuation of the story.
This is one huge filler (with multiple sex scenes, many of which bordered on creepy, serving as the main filler together with endless woe is me and I'm the baddest girl inner monologues) I did expect a bit of plot movement. But i can see this series dragging out over 5 or more books at this rate. Im probably out unless i really get in a fun fluff read dry zone.
MAN what a cliffhanger. This book dragged on for far too long on going back and forth the Nothrek. It was practically a copy and paste of the first book just traveling in the opposite direction. There wasn’t much anticipation leading up to the final battle and a lot was left to be desired in that battle. The ending, and pretty much the entirety of both books so far, were too similar to fbaa for me.
slow-paced
The continuation of the Of a Flesh and Bone series follows Estrella through Northrek back to where the Veil fell.
While everyone has been raving about this series, it just isn’t for me. I find the FMC to be whiny and indecisive, wishy-washy over what she wants for herself to the point of having the same interaction with herself as well as the MMC every few pages. While I understand that she has an extremely troubled past and that her abuse leads her to question everyone’s motives, it becomes quite repetitive. Now the MMC, on the other hand, I loved. If I were him, I wouldn’t have the patience.
There were a few plot twists I didn’t see coming as well as some odd things I’m hoping getting explained in the next book (why does Holt all of a sudden hate her?)
Once again we are left on a bit of a cliffhanger, not a devastating one, but a cliffhanger none the less. I had such high expectations for this series and am hoping book three will meet them for me, with the crew finally landing back in Alfheimr and everything going to shit

It’s giving under the mountain in ACOTAR. This series is gonna be the death of me I’m sure. I love this please read it. The series is good and I say it’s worth the pain. Good luck
I felt like nothing move forward much in the second installment of this series. I still found the use of modern terminology such as “codependent“ jarring while reading a book of this nature IDK, that I’ll finish the series.
This book could have been shortened by 10 chapters. Like the first book, they spent most of their time running back to the veil. Sure, we see Estrella’s power grow, but it felt like filler. They don’t reach Alfheimr until the last chapter of the book.
