I'm pretty new to biographies, but this was very well written, engaging, and educational. There were maybe a couple dry spots, but I was hooked for the entire lengthy book.

Let's be clear up front: this is a very well-written and well-researched book. While there are certain parts that are very interesting (and conversely very dry), the key thing I came to realize while reading this is that if you don't already possess a deep desire to learn more about TR or are fascinated by his life, this series probably isn't for you. I did learn quite a bit, though, about his early life and time prior to becoming the president but with another two books in the series, I think this is the station I hop off.

Very thorough bio of Teddy’s first 40-ish years. Includes positives but certainly doesn’t omit many negatives.

Teddy Roosevelt must have been a fascinating person in real life. I found most of this book very interesting, although it does become a slog in places. One thing that struck me is that politics really hasn't changed that much in the last 100+ years.
