this started off a little slow, i wasn't that interested in anything that was going on, i couldn't really remember where the last book had ended, but THEN, then everything started happening and everyone started dying and it became much more interesting.

because the red wedding happens at the end of series 3 and this is the third book technically i thought it would happen somewhere near the end, and that a lot of the following events/deaths wouldn't happen until the next book, but nope, they got thrown at me chapter after chapter and left me reeling.

i really like getting to see the reactions of the characters spread all over the place of the things that have taken place in a chapter or so before, like arya's disbelief that sansa could be accused of such a thing, and stannis and co's reaction to the two weddings.

i was trying to finish this before i go on holiday tomorrow so i skimmed daenerys' chapters mostly. they're always my least favourite. i really dislike tyrion now so i wasn't really interested in his either even though so much action was there. the last few chapters of jon were good as they chose the next lord commander, i liked them.

Fast paced and full of details! What a read! I'm not usually fond of books with character death, but this entire series is full of people dying. Some very important players died in this book, can't wait to see who goes next!

Damn you George R. R. Martin! The plot twists have tugged at my heart strings and kept me at the edge of my seat. They made it incredibly hard to put the book down to sleep or even study for my finals. I would pick up the book and tell myself that I'll only read "a teeny bit" and then focus on studying, but of course "a teeny bit" ended up being over a 100 pages. What a roller coaster ride it's been reading A Storm of Swords (both parts)! I can't review this without giving away any spoilers, so I'll settle for just raving about how great it was. If you've read only the first book or two, I urge you to keep on reading! The series just keeps getting better and better. You want to get to this book, and you want to be subjected to the oh so sweet misery that Martin will put you through.

I only have two books left of the series and I'm starting to dread the wait on Martin to release The Winds of Winter. I feel like I've lived through the wars, grieved over the deaths, and despaired over the situations some characters find themselves in.

So many great additions in this book. The Night's Watch plot gets extremely more interesting, and the magical aspect of the series are explored in more depth. Every time I thought I knew how something will play out, Martin threw a curve ball. It was never exactly how I expected things to go, and I can't wait to read the next book.

So far this is my favorite installment of the series.... In love with the characters, the plot twists and even the killing of some of some my favorites didn't bother me as much as I thought it would... Thanks sir, for another stunning book....

WHAT A BOOK!

this (so far) is the strongest of the series. its truly rhe climax where everything ramps up and there's betrayals left and right or deaths and undeaths. I felt like i was looking on in the background in all of the scenes and i struggled to put this book down and pace myself through it.

im really excited to see what the next book brings

i have to say im glad catelyn died - she was not a character i was fond of
but i do think that whats come back is a necromantic catelyn so im interested to see what goes on in the next book with her character

JON? Oh jon you are a lord commander at heart, you are great for that role.

Sansa has been given the worst lot given that she was a dreamer at heart (and still is) but i am so glad to see her character development and her growth into becoming someone who understands family and not dreams.

Once again, i enjoyed jaime's character but he really really needs to let go of cersei like she aint shit bro i promise you
