I recognize this was written a hundred and twenty years ago, but the skull differences convo seemed like it came up more often then it should, with a new slur every time.
I consider reading works from the past important but you can probably skip this one lol. A neat little mystery but one that although you can guess at parts you can’t really understand fully because Sherlock keeps certain information he finds out to himself until it’s time to regal us with how he solved it, and it doesn’t really provide anything in the way of literary merit(not that it was meant to lol)

As one of the first Sherlock stories I’ve read the whole way through, it’s funny to find out that he really wasn’t a very interesting writer, every story really is predictably formulaic and monotonous. And so very uninteresting as a woman. It’s easy to see why this is so readily turned into a tv show
One must respect the classics. There's a reason The Hound of the Baskervilles is an enduring favorite: it has a few good twists, great characterization, and a compelling mystery.
However, this book is brought down by its own greatness. Its twists have been copied so many times that I guessed them long before they were revealed and had the murderer figured out very early. And I don't even read mysteries that often!
So yes, I liked it, but it's dated.

Very badly organized on the page. One never knows if they're supposed to read left to right, top to bottom. Very chaotic and difficult to read.
