What the hell was that? What the hell did I read? Just when I thought I had a firm grasp of the story, I got confused, again. Yet despite my confusion, I did understand the mcs' love for each other.
Eta: I needed a lot of help to understand this story. And after getting my answers, I now see the brilliance and beauty of this story.

I can honestly say I've never read a book like this before. It's unique, intriguing, interesting, and keeps you on your toes the whole way through. This was a very different kind of love story. The steam level is low but the quality of writing and storytelling is very high.
Don't look for spoilers on this one. It's best to go in blind.

This is one of those books that if I say one wrong word, I will ruin for you. Mia really did out do herself with this one... I am going to keep this one pretty simple, unlike the story.
This book is like a light fog being lifted in the morning. You really aren't sure if it's really the story. I kept wondering if this was a story of one big dream. These characters were so raw and such a slow explosion together that I couldn't seem to put the book down.
Like other Mia Sheridan books, this one will have you needing some tissues. Unlike other Mia Sheridan books... well, it isn't really like the other books of hers that I have read. I can't really explain the differences. You just need to find out for yourself.
As always, Mia writes every single word with such precision. Every word seems thought-out and has a purpose. There are no fillers. Every single word is important. Pay close attention. You wouldn't want to miss out on what Mia is trying to tell you!

Ok. I do not think the ending was done well at all. We read this entire story about these 2 people but find out at the end that we know nothing about them! How much of their personalities were made up? Which parts of their backstories were true? How are these 2 surviving, logistically??? Love is just not cutting it for me here! Maybe that means I'm not a romantic LOL It was super unsatisfying and confusing, and not in the "wow I'll be thinking about this for a week" way but in a "why the hell did I just waste 9 hours reading this book" way. I really could not reccomend this book to a friend which is disappointing because I was enjoying it even with the Holden/Ryan switcheroo.
My mom always told me how enraged she was after the whole Bobby in the shower season of Dallas aired and now I think I'm starting to understand

I love Mia Sheridan. I have read all of her books so far, and I enjoyed every single one. A few of them are on my favorite bookshelf.
Even though I loved this book, it wasn't my favorite. I liked the open ending and all the possibilities you can imagine after finishing reading, but I didn't like the confusion and questions I was left with.
It took me a little to get into the story at first, it was kinda slow, but also it helps to understand everything better after the first twist about the middle of the book. I loved that twist, it made me so excited to keep reading and knowing what was going o happen.
I loved the characters and the writing of this author, as always. The hero and heroine were well developed, and their background stories were deep and interesting. The dual POV helped to understand some things but also to get confused about other.
The sex scenes were awesome too, Mia Sheridan always make sure to mix steamy moments with deep emotions and feelings, so the result is pretty intense. Sometimes maybe too intense, depending on the case.
The ending was a mindfuck. I didn't know what I read at first... I'm still not sure. That's a good thing, but also a bad thing, in my opinion. Maybe the execution of the initial idea wasn't as successful as it should have been, because I think the premise was brilliant and it had the potential to be fantastic, but the feeling I had after finishing wasn't so good.
There were flaws, but afterall it was a nice story, entertaining and interesting, and something different and original.
