Sometimes all you need is a mediocre read.

(Audiobook) This story didn’t have to be THAT long, it dragged for half of  it making no sense..

I think I would give the first half of this book close to a five and the second half close to a one. After a lot of character growth, the FMC has to confront the MMC doing all sorts of shady shit. In this genre, there’s plenty of times when the MMC looks like they’re doing bad things then there’s a plot twist that reveals reasons of various legitimacy that show they had FMC‘s best interest in mind all along. This felt like the opposite of that where FMC has minimal power and has to accept the person that she loves and is dependent on has been doing shady shit, there was not enough time in the book for me to feel like he had been redeemed, even though of course FMC forgives him.

Genuinely enjoyed. It had the story I was looking for in IPB, with twists and turns it definitely felt like it had more meat to it. I am easily entertained so I don’t think everyone is going to be ranting and raving about this book, but I had a good time with it. I definitely feel it’s worth a try!

DNF @ 10%

I know it might not seem like it but I really tried to get through this book but I promise I did. I first picked up this book a couple months ago and was so annoyed by the FMC that I set it aside hoping to try again later. I picked it up again and she was every bit as annoying the second time around.

Candromeda was incredibly self centered, entitled, lazy, and childish. If you had told me she was 14 I would have believed you. She certainly didn’t act 24.

I was hoping that the MMC would save this book and was trying to hold out on DNFing until I got to meet him. But after the briefest introduction he disappeared and I just couldn’t take Candromeda anymore.

I’ve read other Ruby Dixon book before and enjoyed them, so I won’t let this one book stop me from picking her books up again in the future, this one just wasn’t for
