This book was such a treat!! I absolutely loved Valancy and felt connected to her through the entire story. Her family was laughably absurd. I loved her and Barney's relationship, but I also love how it wasn't just a romance -- it was Valancy discovering herself with her romance with Barney as an added bonus. Their romance was sweet, yet untraditional. His declaration of love was so darn sweet, and I was giddy the whole time. This book made me laugh multiple times; it is so well written and such an incredible story. L. M. Montgomery never fails.
I would absolutely recommend and read again!!

This is by far Montgomery's best novel, and it is possibly the best novel of all time. It gets better with every re-read!

Головній героїні Валансі 29 років, і вона незаміжня. Це головна її характеристика, якщо послухати родичів. Для них Валансі - стара діва. До того ж негарна і дурненька. Сіра, на відміну від своєї красуні кузини. І Валансі живе під суворим контролем мами. Їй навіть чхнути при людях не можна. Та раптом стається щось страшне. У Валансі знаходять смертельну недугу. І кажуть, що проживе вона - максимум рік. Саме тут і починається краса цієї книжки. Розкривається теплий гумор Люсі Мод Монтґомері. Її любов до природи і людей, які будуть своє життя по-своєму, навіть якщо це для когось дивно.
Переклад Наталії Михаловської прекрасний! Я часом і взагалі забувала, що це переклад.
