This sounded like a book that I would love. But, I found that the book dragged quite often. Quincy aggravated me. She let someone into her home and her life so quickly and allowed her to influence her way too easily. The book also often seemed disjointed. I guess I am just trying to say I was disappointed, although I wanted to love it.

This was a really engaging thriller. Definitely some cheesy twists that were a bit of a stretch, but I was totally hooked the whole time.

I am not really a murder thriller fan and was reading this just to widen my range. I actually really enjoyed it. There were a few plot details that bothered me, but that is to be expected. More of Sager's books will definitely be added to my ever-growing TBR list.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, but I found the plot and twists so dense that a lot of time was spent unraveling the story before reaching the conclusion. This made it feel like it could have been shorter, though I understand the need to avoid loose ends. That said, Riley Sager is a fantastic writer. While this isn’t my favorite of his, it was still an enjoyable read. Once again, he delivered an unexpected plot twist that left me questioning my detective skills! 👏🏻

So look, Riley Sager books aren’t “good,” but they’re reliably entertaining.  Yes, there will be a point where a stupid plot twist happens that makes you want to throw the book across the room and yell, “That’s stupid!  That would never happen!”  But the fact that you’re invested enough you’re driven to do that is proof that these books absolutely hook you.  Is the hook enough?  Maybe?  Did this book kinda frustrate me?  A little.  Will I probably read more of his work in the future?  It’s likely.

Sager's usage of language to tell this story is extraordinary. I was wrapped the entire time and was verbally gasping for air towards the end. I recommend this to everyone!

I had previously read Grady Hendrix’s “Final Girl Support Group” and didn’t love the execution of a book with such a great premise. When I saw this book, by an author I already knew I liked, I was thrilled to give the story a “do-over.”

I felt justified in this decision because I do feel that this book executed the meeting of “final girls” in a better way. More believable, more tense. A plot twist that was actually a twist. You get the idea.

Perhaps closer to 3.75 stars since I’ve enjoyed other Sager novels more. Would still recommend.
