“I’m not like other girls” 🤮😭. The characters are all white and the only poc character is in it for like 5 pages and is described as “mocha” which is weird. There is a lot of repetition in descriptions and phrases thats kind of annoying.
Why is she 17! That is not necessary, and it makes the series weird. She should’ve been 18, shes finally able to get away from her mom and goes to college….. her and the guys being minors is wrong, even the character seem older when ur reading them.

So typically with this type of book I would have thrown it across the room. However, I found myself loving the characters and the writing and how they all interacted with each other. It's slow paced but it feels good to read and I can't wait to get the rest.

Trying To Live With The Dead is a really well written reverse harem. It has ghosts, love, lots of humor, betrayal, and sarcastic remarks out the butt. I absolutely adore the fact that our main character had stuff happen in her past that helped her grow. Our main character, Alexis Delaney, can communicate with the dead. Everything goes wrong when one particular ghost sets her sights on Alexis and her men. Can Alexis save the ghosts and her men? Or is someone damned for hell?
Very good individual characters. A little unnatural how easily the guys all accepted Alexis. I'm assuming that will be due to something supernatural we'll find out later in the series. Also Alexis isn't as funny as I think she's meant to be. Very slow burn.

loved it! i loved the group dynamic and individual character developments. i didn't like the "not like other girls" vaguely misogynistic attitude of the narrator/FMC but i let it slide and tried to see it through the kindest lens. I love the paranormal element to the story!
I'm just really glad I finished it. My main problem: the whole 'I'm not like the other girls' issue was annoying. The author made sure to mention it EVERY SINGLE TIME. Honey, you are like many protagonists out there, and I didn't like them either. I'm not trying to be mean, I really am not, just brutally honest, and I don't like to give a bad review either. And I really tried to like it, but... I kinda dislike this character!
Can we talk about how the characters are so familiar when it comes to the RH universe? Zeke was like North Taylor in pretty much every way.
I just didn't like it that much and I'm glad it's over. It felt like there were just too many pages in this book.
