The moment I read the synopsis for this book, I knew I needed it in my life. I sped through this book, I stayed up until 1 am (letting myself get freaked out by ghost talk in the pitch black of the night), I neglected all responsibilities for this book. I loved it. The characters were fantastic, the plot was fantastic, everything was fantastic. It was marvelously spooky while still fluffy and cute. I can't wait for the next one (I currently have a giant urge to go reread my favorite scenes...I think I'll go do that). All in all, it was an A+ book and I can't wait to continue on with the rest of the guys and Lexie's adventures.

Edit: Ok, so now that I have read this series over 5 times I feel like I need to edit this review to add that this series is seriously awesome and easily one of my favorite of all time. I highly recommend it. My initial review isn’t wrong, but this series a slowly developing treasure. The world building and character development is excellent and I love reading it over and over to discover new things.
Dec 3, 2018-I have somewhat mixed feelings. This was recommended to me as a romance series, but I’m really not getting that ‘romance’ vibe. I usually prefer more of a NA story, but this is solidly YA. There’s cursing but no romantic scenes whatsoever. The story is good and the character building is very good (although MC is a bit too angsty even for me at times). I’ll continue reading.

If you can grit your teeth through the terrible grammar, punctuation and lack of editing, you'll find a nice story with some great characters.
17 year old Alexis, abused by a drugged-up mother, has had custody transferred to her uncle Rory - a single dad policeman in a small town, with a horrible daughter.
Paranormal: Alexis sees dead people but it is excruciatingly painful; she makes friends with 5 (cute) boys; the sister of one of the boys is the requisite school bitch; there is a malevolent ghost and the story is tied off with the shaky bow of a teen who has no idea how to control her powers.
A nice, easy teen read, if somewhat grating.

I wasn't able to listen to audio books for a few weeks, and now that I'm able to do so again, I just don't care about this story anymore.
Every now and then I love myself some slow burn, but all the while the h became very close friends with the guys within a day or two, the story itself was DRAGGING. It felt like nothing really happened in the course of ten and a half hours of listening time (which is sad, I really liked the premise).

I'd probably normally rate this a 4 starts but there are some editing issues with grammar etc that just grate me enough that I can't do it. It's a good book there's a little bit of I'm not like other girls trope but again it's not annoying enough that I'd really care too much
Overall a good book!
The book was ok, and I will defenetly keep reading but I felt like it repeated itself a lot. She had to repeat the same answer to the same question again and again because the guys where never in the same place when good things happen (the guys need to communicate better). I was also expecting a little more romance but I can understand taking it slow.

I'm so tired of the "I'm not like other girls" fmc, but despite that, this 500 page book managed to entertain me and even if there was no romance (so far) and it was more the development of friendship between the protagonists, I liked it.
The first part of the book and how the fmc became friends with the mmcs was a bit weird (I read a review that called it insta-friendship, bc yes) but if you manage to advance more than the first chapters the story is quite entertaining, I will definitely follow the series because I want to know how they go from friendship to romance.

I have mixed opinions towards this book.
I LOVED the story concept. It was so cool. Plus, the guys were so likeable and threw honestly all seemed so cute. I also liked how they all had distinct personalities and seems like developed characters. I only wish there was some kissing in this book!
However, I HATED the fact that this entire story was centered around the concept of ‘I’m not like other girls.’ It was so annoying. This entire book was filled with female stereotypes: it said girls were bitchy, dramatic, makeup-loving, basically any stereotype you could think of. It made me unbelievably angry, and is really the main reason I gave this book 2 stars. That and the fact that there was no romance whatsoever. At least give me a kiss in a romance book! I also didn’t like that violence was the answer to everything. It made everything pretty one dimension.
I may try to read the next book, but I am very frustrated that this book was so sexist. I am hoping it will get better as the series continues.
