Edit after I finished the whole series:
Amazing first few books, sadly a HUGE disappointment at the end, imo. I'm heartbroken (TT_TT)
Don't get to excited about the reverse harem tag, it was (to me) kinda unsatisfying. And not because the boys had girlfriends of their own before the harem part started. But because the end was just super rushed and the romantic relationship just didn't get a chance to develop properly.
Old review:
I loved this from the first page! The characters are amazing. The friendships are adorable. And the dialogue is funny and sassy and well written.
This is tagged as reverse harem, and I'm really looking forward to that, but I would have loved this even if there was no promise of future pairings at all.
And Alexis is an amazing female character. I'm really enjoying everything about her. And I adore all the guys in the group!
Now I'm gonna jump into the next book immediately!

Picked this up after I saw it recommended. I like the overall story and the characters, it is a slow burn but I don't mind that if there is enough plot and character development to keep it interesting.
I think the part I don't like is the FMC can be a little OTT with her "sassy badass" personality. I am all for standing up for people, and calling people out on being rude but the threats and getting in peoples faces is not a personality trait I tend to like.
I do prefer multi POV too in RH, but this is all from the FMC POV.
So the two reasons above are the reason for the 4* rating.
But I will be picking up the next in the series, as I do like the overall story and hoping the romance starts to develop.

can i really mark this as reverse harem?? i'm not sure given there's NO ROMANCE BETWEEN THE MC AND THE GUYS like i know y'all said it was a slowburn, but there's nothing burning here. there is less than 0 burn. someone refers to the boys as her brother's in either this book or the next. i want to cry. and who tf is dylan?? boy get out of here?!
at the very least, this book was very addictive, in a trashy way. but also the MC was such a 2010 "not like other girls" heroine... every guy was obsessed with her, all the girls were bitchy mean girls, our MC was so "cool" and "different" because she knew about cars and football and swore a lot. wow. colour me unimpressed.
i don't know why i finished this book and read half the second (especially given the length) but lord this did not surpass my (low) expectations.

This is a series you can re-read multiple times... it can be a touch "I'm not like other girls" over the top, but its such a good book its easy to forgive that. It's real life emotion and issues, mixed with paranormal, but it makes it seem all very plausible.
This is 100% a series, if you read this by itself with no plans on finishing the series, you'll be left with a LOT of questions. It doesn't end on a cliff hanger, just with things unanswered.
It is totally worth reading though, but as series goes on there are some triggers, but they are also dealt with in a very good manner, and no one with their issues magically gets over it all in 2 paragraphs which makes this series even more spectacular.

Thank you Sharon J for recommending this book series to me. This was a fantastic read. If you are a fan of reverse harem books such as C.L. Stone's Academy series (Ghost Birds series), then this book will not disappoint you. This follows the story of a girl named Lexie and the five guys that she lives with. Lexie is a fierce heroine. She is not afraid of anything, and speaks her mind. I love her so much. The five guys, well, they are very protective of her. My favourite guy is Zeke!!! He is the best to me and I love the way he calls her baby. This is the beginning of another amazing yet long series. I can't wait to read Book 2. Overall, an amazing read.
Just finished rereading this book for the third time and it just gets better. Lexie is a strong honest mc that isn't a damsel in distress. Her group of guys are supportive and caring without any romantic undertones, even if I wish there were. Definitely a great series and a must read.
This book was a complete slog to get through, and that even includes me skim reading basically the whole book, yet I still got the ‘important’ information. Funny.
Most of the things I dislike about this book have to do with me not liking particular tropes/genres/stereotypes/archetypes that are featured in many books. Yet this is my review and my own opinion, so I can do whatever I fkn like.
Before I rant, I’d like to remind myself that yes, you did want to like this book. In fact, you were excited to read it and enjoy a long-ass book about ghosts and an average girl who can see those said ghosts. But you see, past me, you were sucked into the pretty-cover propaganda that has therefore ruined your weekend.

It's a great start to a new series. We had a bit of paranormal in here which is always a favorite for me.
I'm also glad that she only stayed friends with the guys. It was great to see them form this great friendship! I do feel like it might change in the upcoming books.
I can't wait to see how the dynamic of Lexi's relationship with guys continues on.
